Don't. Every moment in Evangelion is crucial in observing the characters. The main reason people are frustrated with it is because they spend too much time trying the analyse the plot when its true purpose is as a backdrop for the characters to act in, which is the central point of the show, at least in my opinion.
When you get around to watching it, don't bother trying to make sense of the plot the first time you see it. Just pay attention to the characters, you'll find it a lot more enjoyable that way.

Don't do that. The retelling just doesn't have the same feel. Besides, the movie will come with a different ending, so you'll want to see the TV series anyway.

Your to watch list looks great. By the way, I would like to recommend you watch Legend of the Galactic Heroes.
Also when you do get around to seeing Evangelion, don't forget to watch End of Evangelion. I also suggest you feel depressed before you watch it, it helps you to understand it better.

Abort! Abort! Blood+ isn't worth it! Way too long, too slow and way too cliched - just a waste of time. The early episodes are quite good, but episode 6 is just so hackneyed and laughably cliched your eyes will fall out of their sockets due to intense rolling. The drama in the show absolutely flat-out fucking sucks and Saya is an awful lead who you simply CANNOT root for. Urgh, it makes me shudder to think about it.

I have nothing against fillers personally. Actually, I'm a little relieved because the anime is catching up with the manga real fast and I want the anime to stay true to the manga. Perhaps, I just find Foxy the Silver Fox an annoying character. XD

Ah, I suppose that's true. I've probably met some of the SG MAL users and don't even know it. It is a small world after all.
Actually, I used to abstinate myself specifically from One Piece manga because its a huge spoiler when I watch the anime but I couldn't handle the suspense any longer so I've been keeping up with the manga. Episode 382 seems to be a filler with the return of those Davy Back jokers.
GaRei Zero reminds me a little of Gantz with all the bloodshed and Blood+ for the main characters.

I am pretty sure you guessed right with the 3rd arc. There isn't really a big surprise with that one.
Personally I do like the characters. A bunch of tusnderes but everyone does have a nice side. You will definitely see different sides to Lin, Ayako, Masako and Naru. And John and the monk are always pretty cool.
And there are better stories then the 3rd arc.
Unfortunately the anime leaves off the last story arc of the novel which explains quite a bit about Naru.
