Since when did we have 87 percent compatibility????? o_o

That's not what I am here for however. I was just wondering if you would be able to direct me to the book that you said you were doing illustrations for. I wouldn't mind reading it.

FT's shipping powa is getting stronger in each chapter....

Are you gonna scanlate it? I translated five pages just now. It doesn't take long to do the actual translation—writing everything down is what's time consuming.

Thanks for the response and what an interesting insight. And now, as promised, here are my insights on the 3 characters listed here.

Let's start with Anthy because there is a bit of symbolism that i'll like to address with her. You recall Anthy's role as the "Rose Bride". From my understanding, the roses are symbolic for the individual. Consider that, Anthy herself could be classified as a slut, and it actually makes sense considering some of her actions in the story proper. However, to merely end it at that will not do the character any justice. In addition to what was described, she shared her brother's hatred for humanity, though her's stems from a different source. While Akio's hatred comes from arrogance, Anthy's hatred emerged from the despair inflicted upon her and her brother. One of the particular reasons she grew affection and romance for Utena was because she was the first and only human in ages that actually treated her as a person and wanted to help her escape the pain.

Speaking of which, let's go for Utena next. the colors of the roses represent the problems of the individual which were illustrated through the series. Utena has the distinction of having 2 rose colors. Her pink represents her passion, such as her passion for being a prince and her passion for Anthy, as well as for Akio (temporarily). Her white also represents her naiveté, as she is in the dark about a great number of things.

Finally, we'll talk about Touga's character. His rose is red, which symbolizes his ambition. His hunger for power can rival that of the Disney Villains, and he will spread his legs for any chance at obtaining power, no matter who it is coming from. Wether this is for the girl in the coffin, or if it is for himself, i'll leave to you, though I actually think its a combination of the 2. As for his affection for Utena, I won't make any attempt to refute it, but if I may say something, the intro to a Princess Tutu episode sums him up quite nicely:
"Once upon a time, there was a young man with a beautiful face. The
people loved the handsome young man, but he never showed the
slightest interest in loving anyone. This was because all he loved
was himself. When the young man, who neglected to love and sought
only to be loved, found someone for whom he truly cared, he realized
that he had lost even the words to express those feelings."

Hey there. Though you probably don't remember, you reccomended Utena to me when I first joined the Elitist club. Well, after having created a new anime collection (centered around postmodernism), I finally got around to watching Utena through the long run. What I'm writing to you is that I want to discuss the show with you. If you don't mind, please type me anything about the show (favorite character, symbolic message, etc.). I'll respond with any interpretation I can give. Though if you don't want to just say so and I'll relent. I just want to talk about the show with you.

Yeah it was weird and unexpected. I can think of several ways to conclude the story while staying within the fantasy genre boundaries, but I guess they tried to impress the audience by pulling that Evangelion at the end. At least it came very late in the series and it didn't last long enough for me to start disliking it.

I might start posting there again sometime, the past few months have been shaky and gloomy (and my activity on MAL has been litterally zero for 3 months) but I'm slowly coming back to life. I also need to rework my profile a bit since so much time has passed since I last changed avatars/descriptions and somehow I can't... identify myself in those anymore if that even makes sense lol

Is that so? Awesome! ;)
How are ya? And you're my SENPAI? It feels cool to have a Senpai!! :3
You seem pretty chill. x)

>Thanks for the recommendation on Utawarerumono, it was enjoyable for at least 4/5 of the series but the last fifth left me a bit perplexed. Like Escaflowne it was more proof that fantasy and sci-fi don't go too well toghether for the most part at least in anime lol

Couldn't agree more.

well that's it. how have you been?

sushiisawesome | 08-03-14, 12:05 AM
That's a horrible deal.

Nid is, at the very least, watching something he'll enjoy on some level. You're watching a perverted yuri filled with lolicon masquerading as mahou shojo that takes Type/Moon's name and stains it so badly that most T/M fans pretend it never happened.

Please, ask him to change the show into something like Symphogear or Damidaler or something, ANYTHING other than that. At least those two are so bad they're freaking hilarious rather than being plain bad.

ihateeveryone | 08-02-14, 12:00 PM
Please listen to sushi. It gets fanservicey later on and the second season is showing to have even more. Plus it tries to get dramatic and edgy too.
