It's not dubbing if it's the original though, since dubbing refers to voice overs that are not the originals, just so we're clear on terms :P
But I don't think that's where a lot of the money went; my guess is the animation. After all, this was HIS project (working with a group of other people), so it doesn't make much sense that he would take all the money for something he's willing to create anyway.

I think it was more memorable as 5 high quality episodes though. If they had more, then they probably wouldn't be able to afford the $1 million budget that they had for each episode.
