As much as Soul Eater is dear to my heart...I agree with you about your opinion of its oversexualization and that is one of the things I dislike about the series.

good soul eater take. after watching (and enjoying) the anime, i was genuinely shocked to see how oversexualized every female character was in the very first chapter, so i'm relieved to see someone articulate that feeling so well! it's a shame that so many comments here are weirdly disrespectful just because they read the words "female representation" and had their brain short circuit.

Hey, just dropping by to say I loved reading your Soul eater review. It was very well-written, insightful, and you pointed out all the major issues in a great way. Don't listen to the tolls here, you have a skill at analysing narratives and talking about flaws and some good sides. And I'm saying this as a huge Soul Eater fan, since you were absolutely right. Any true fan will acknowledge the series has its (sometimes massive) problems. Hope you have a great day, don't stop writing reviews and ignore the idiots here.

"Female representation" sounds stupid in fiction, because it doesn't need to always represent females like in life. And what about male representation? All men in anime are realistic? No, they are getting sexualized in their way too, but as I see you just ignore it.

Very good soul eater review :) I hope these other comments don't get to you, oversexualizing young women and glorifying rape culture through jokes are both very valid critiques of a story!
