I seldom watch harem animes 'cause most of the time I feel disappointed and unsatisfied, but True Tears is definitely an exemption.

The story is unique in its own way. NOT weird or supernaturally out of line. Unlike other harem animes that make you feel anxious, True Tears will leave you feeling "right". The whole story is so real that you'd wish it isn't to minimize your anticipation. But, that is where the charm of the story lies. You know these things happen in real life... some things are just out of our control. Another good part of the story is, how they managed to compressed it in 13 eps. without leaving any loose ends behind. You won't be feeling unsatisfied at all.

I can't really say anything unpleasant about the characters in the story. They were all played out realistically well. The male character (Shiniichiro), deserved to be pursued by women. He wasn't swayed by shallow reasons or by mere pervertedness; in-fact, his character is one of those pure and caring people. Hiromi, as opposed to other harem animes again, is not a psycho. She might have acted a little weird, but that was expected though. If she acted a bit less different, her character would not have been portrayed effectively. Noe's character was amazingly captivating as well. She was innocent and real to her feelings that you'll find it hard to dislike her.

True Tears is an exemplary anime that is highly recommendable to everybody. It's worth your time :D

I still have a "hang-over" over Nana so I was browsing for some animes thats relevantly similar to it. Came across Kaikan Phrase but had a dout coz its quite old. But I somehow ended up watching it and have no regrets at all.

The story started of typically. A little bit slow but as it progresses you'll find yourself hooked. There's a lot of character development that would make one kind of attached to each band member. It was focused more on the band, on have they struggled, how they developed they're relationship to each other and how they overcame the obstacles they faced. It was pretty touching and inspiring. The "love story" started of a little bit late but for me it was just the right timing. You'll see how love can change someone.

Sound is ok, because the anime was done in 1999 so the music is a liitle off my taste. But I most probably would have liked it better if I saw the anime at that time.

I'll give the characters an outstanding. Each one of them has different characteristics that would make different kind of people relate to them. Nobody stood up annoyingly or overly dramatic. Even the female leads character was done just appropriately.

Obviously I had a fun time watching it. Time well-spent! 44 episodes just not enough. read more

Story: I've read the sypnosis of Shuffle and I was like "wow!". Then, first few episodes I've seen I was like " gotta be patient, it should get better soon". Exactly at the 20th episode I was like " I should have done my nails instead". The story was so shallow...... yeah shallow couldn't think of a better word to describe it.

Art: Great.. its the only thing that got me to finish the anime.

Character: This is why I had the urge to write a review. I'll start with the protagonist. Fine.. he is kind thats why everybody is going gaga 'bout him but his indecisiveness is really lame. I've seen quite a few harem type animes and this is the first one that got me really annoyed about the protagonist. There isnt really a strong force that would make you feel attached to his character. And then the girls.. I guess their characters are fine except for being martyrs.

Enjoyment: I had a fairly good laugh once in awhile.

Overall: Poor. Not a good recommendation to anybody. Well I have to move on now. read more
