About 1sttimer
Hello everyone I am 1sttimer and a fan of anime/manga. I also enjoy creative writing and astrology. I like anime because it unrealistic and over the top, which makes it very entertaining. Whenever I do read manga (which isn't often), it's under certain conditions: new, interesting, and short (unless I really like it). The manga genres I gravitate to are Yoai and school-life. I believe my favorite mangas Black Bird and After School Nightmare (Houkago Hokenshitsu) will make great anime series. I have an open mind about genres on anime and manga.

Why Do I dropped certain anime series? (Just in case you were wondering)

  1. I dislike it (examples: getbackers, kurokami, gravitation)
  2. Just plain stupid (examples: pani poni dash!, lucky ☆ star)
  3. It's too long {too many epsoides and/or multiple seasons} (examples: Naruto, Maria-sama ga Miteru, clannad)
  4. Repetitive story-lines (examples: Kiddy Grade)
  5. It's not english dub (examples: Shigofumi, W~wish) I watch some anime in subtitles. I still prefer english dub over subtitled for better understanding and enjoyment. I watch anime in english subtitles if it's the only version available.

Anime series who deserve to have another season

  1. Boku wa Imouto ni Koi wo Suru (I love my younger sister)
  2. Durarara!!
  3. Mnemosyne: Mnemosyne no Musume-tachi (Rin: Daughters of Mnemosyne)
  4. Revolutionary Girl Utena (Shoujo Kakumei Utena)
  5. Loveless
  6. Blood+

Hi, nice to meet you

I dropped IS. Couldn't take another episode of a rambling, confused, clueless idiot of a male main character who is constantly harassed and fought over by a number of girls who keep increasing as the series goes on. And the voice acting of the women in the series is annoying. Terrible. Complete waste of my time. 4/10 simply because of the mecha fighting. Sadly, the other reasons listed above override the decent action scenes.

what's up?

Mirai Nikki and Black Butler deserve another season because they are awesome shows and deserve a better ending.

An anime isn't usually a masterpiece, but has a high ranking because it's ending is left open. when you get through the whole series and fall in love with the characters, the last thing you want is unanswered questions. I don't continue to manga in a lot of instances, so anime like Skip Beat just pissed me off. Mirai Nikki and Black Butler are both great series, but it leaves you wondering, "what-ifs."

Well, im not really sure what can be said about it... I didnt enjoy an anime enough to call it a masterpiece

and examples would be all anime on my list with score 9 because they were entertaining but not as good as Code Geass, Ef, Clannad, Mawaru,...

SweetDeception | 06-23-12, 6:40 AM
A1: Beelzebub, Durarara, Spice and Wolf, Seitokai no ichizon, Zakuro, Nyan koi, Kore wa, Kamisama dolls, HOTD, Hayate, Ga rei, Ouran, Canaan..

A2: Not enough enjoyment

Ahanna | 01-26-12, 5:44 AM
Mirai Nikki is getting crazier and crazier as the episodes go on...

sorry for the late, anyway, for me the anime 07 ghost, blood c and pandora hearts deserves their second season why?because not only me, but others are confused about the ending of this said anime especially the ending...ending is pointless and our minds are unclearly answer hoping that these anime have their upcoming another seasons...that's what running on my mind (sorry my english is bad..)

Next Question: What keeps an anime from being a masterpiece? (specific anime name or grene and explain why)
--i think it's genre XD ? well all anime is masterpiece although it depends on your taste...as for me, the anime is masterpiece when it comes to flow and characters of the story...of course also the art and genre plays a big role to anime to become masterpiece &... 07 ghost, nodame cantabile, Code Geass, Pandora hearts, Blood C & Uraboku (it's hard to choose but these are the fews out of 130 anime's that is masterpiece for me)

chaos- | 12-19-11, 9:12 PM
It's very funny, I liked it.

chaos- | 12-19-11, 9:03 AM
Thanks :)

chaos- | 12-18-11, 7:43 AM
Can you recommend me an anime? I don't know a good one to watch now..

chaos- | 12-15-11, 9:44 AM
Pandora Hearts, Loveless and Vampire Knight; the three animes ended without much explanation. I started reading Loveless after I finished the anime and it showed that his brother was still alive.. so they should do a season with his brother in it.

In mahou-shoujo the transformations take too long, there's no need to show it every single time it becomes annoying.

Q: Which character is your favorite in Ouran?

chaos- | 12-07-11, 5:46 PM
Hi :)
I like them a lot.
Light Yagami is also one of my favorites characters.
And I agree with you about Loveless and Durarara!! having another season!

Bleach did the same thing kinda...It suffered from its length to the point that it caught up to its manga and did the filler arcs that bored me (Bount Arc, then that arc in between my favorite arc, the one with Grimmjow's), but I loved the main part of the show. I ended up putting that one on hold because I only watch it dubbed and [AS] took a long break so more could be dubbed and I never got back into it. Thinking about it though, that one did seem more mature than the others I named simply because they bled lol. Plus don't they have like one main villain, lol I can barely remember what was going on in that show. It fighting was better, but they may just be because I love sword fights and didn't really pay attention.
Do they ever have a fight where some one doesn't have a long monologue? - Legit question, I can't remember.

[Random Rant] Why must they all have that one female character that is just utterly useless?!?[Random Rant]

PnkRxPrncss | 12-03-11, 8:28 PM
I think there's alot of anime that deserve more time but the the first one that came to my mind was definitely Skip Beat, simply due to the fact that they cut the show off in the middle of an arc like it was going to continue. I was also going through my favorite list wondering why DRRR!! and NANA have yet to have second seasons since both are excellent stories with alot more to tell. I can't really think of any others right now.

One of the genre's with the biggest problem's that keep them from being masterpieces are shonen, especially forever shonens. Right now I'm talking about the power up and fight one's like Fairy Tail and Beezlebub. They start off good but due to their nature of being long running, start to seem like they're going nowhere. They fight filler, then new fight arc. They try to throw in some character development btu it doesn't really change anything. I enviably end up dropping most forever shonens due to the repetitiveness and how annoying it becomes seeing how no bad guy is evil, they just have a sad story and now everybody is besties and boom new ally. Plus its not gotten to the point that the newer the shonen, the worse the fights are, just bright colored still images, and the reduction of blood which takes away from the atmosphere since you can't tell how much damaged they've taken or anything. But I digress, lol. The real problem is length. They run too long, get repetitive and make me lose interest. Without that, they could be really great, some even masterpieces, maybe.

Um I don't think I really answered your second question so sorry but that's just what popped in first lol.
