For me, the manga was the motivation but even with that reason my luck changed in 2006 when my employer decided they wanted to sell their software in Japan. No one else was interested. They paid for me to take Japanese college courses. I used Japanese 8 hours a day at work, then studied in the evenings and read manga for practice. Within a year of that I had passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test and was using it professionally. I worked out of their Tokyo office for a while, loved every minute of it!
So yes, I watch anime without subs when I can. Sadly Funimation and TAN players don't let me turn off the subs...
I love slice of life anime that remind me of living in Japan. Hopefully I can go back again soon... My wife is willing to go again, the earthquake and radiation made my company recall all foreign staff and my wife was afraid of living there but seems to be OK with it now.
School Days every episode riding the trains brings back memories, strange eh?

Sadly not much manga gets officially licensed. I originally learned Japanese as I was tired of waiting for translations and they changed things they didn't need to change which made me angry.
I haven't read English translated manga in 8 years now. So much better in the original Japanese!
But I hope Kotoura - san gets licensed for translations so more people can enjoy it.

No problem, I always miss friend requests for weeks on end. They don't send emails!
Aside from wishing I had nothing to do other than watch anime and read manga and novels in Japanese, I'm good.

Well I really didn't like Accel World. I wouldn't recommend it you know... But it's your choice of course ^^ It was only about fights in super robot mode. It ade me think about some children anime like Bakugan or something xD And I thought it was boring == I also didn't liked the style == So even if I won't like SAO it still looks better than Accel World ^^

Well I have seen Accel World which is from tha same author as SAO and now I have my own doubts about it... I didn't like Accel World that much and I don't think SAO is much different. Besides they've the same genre. So I'm concerning now...

yeah its fun to watch and its entertaining, but they could of done so much better. It was disappointing, but overall it was enjoyable ^^. I would give it a watch. its the type of show that once you start, you can't stop.

And why did you mentioned him btw?
Ooooh noooo T_T I need to check my russian site, maybe they have some more... but I do't think so... they always translate from English sources.. So whenever a new chapter appears you have to wait till they translate it from English and that can last like a week. I'm not that patient T_T
