Started in 2002, fripSide was made up of two members, nao (vocal, lyrics) and sat, a.k.a. Satoshi Yaginuma (lyrics, synthesizers, composer, arrangement). They also have many other support members.
On March 15, 2009, nao stated on the fripSide Official Website that she had graduated from fripSide. Sat and nao want to pursue different musical careers, as nao intends to pursue a solo singing career. Meanwhile Sat will continue in fripSide with a new project called, fripside: THE NEXT PROJECT. Seiyuu Yoshino Nanjo will be replacing nao as the vocalist of fripSide. Yoshino made her debut as fripSide's new vocalist with the single "only my railgun", the opening of the anime, To Aru Kagaku no Railgun. Yoshino announced graduation on October 31, 2021. During the Final Live for Yoshino as vocalist, it was announced that the new vocalists are Mao Uesugi (上杉 真央, a singer from Osaka previously active as MAO/mAO) and Hisayo Abe (Source: Wikipedia) |
