Kalafina is a Japanese band formed by composer Kajiura Yuki in 2007 to mainly perform theme songs for Kara no Kyoukai anime movies.
Members:
Kajiura, Yuki (Composer)
Ootaki, Wakana
Kubota, Keiko
Masai, Hikaru
Toyoshima, Maya - participated only in Aria/sprinter, left the group in 2009
Main vocals and backgrounds are provided by a different member each time. For example, Wakana is in charge of the main vocals in Oblivious and Lacrimosa, while the main vocals in Aria are done by Hikaru. In others songs each of them sings a stanza.
Wakana and Keiko are also members of Yuki Kajiura's FictionJunction project.

Finally recieved my copy of Consolation and, surprisingly enough, it's damn good. Still don't particularly care for Hikari Furu or Mirai, but I knew that months ago.

Magia is a a MASTERPIECE. It's going to take a while for them to top something so powerful like that.

I love this band. They have a really interesting sound. It really stands out in Hikari no Senritsu and Magia.

Hikari Furu is like accapella, so it didn't click on me at first, too.

Ehhh... I'm really not enjoying Hikari Furu. I think it's because it's essentially a vocal arrange of Sagitta Luminis.
Considering Sagitta Luminis is probably my most skipped track on the PMMM OST's aside from Ave Maria (stupid Ave Maria. I have 6 different versions of it due to various soundtracks all using the damn thing), adding Kalafina's vocals to it just doesn't do enough, regardless of how good their voices are.
