Overrated? Shouldn't Anno be the one whose "overrated?" I mean he's basically all about one anime and a very overrated one at that. Regardless of how you feel about EVA, its still just one anime.

The EVA remakes are much better at least and this is co-directing it with Anno so he gets some points there.

@Jacut: Very overrated? I doubt most people even know who the hell he is in order to overrate him. FLCL was great, although the animators helped immensely in order to make that happen. Still, Diebuster clearly showed his weaknesses while the EVA remake films have been decent, albeit too dependent on the original work, so I don't think anyone is building him up as being anywhere near Anno. He still deserves some credit however, for not being yet another one of these hacks putting out the type of outrageously mediocre pieces of animation that have dominated the scene for the past decade now.
