I think the title "Mad Genius" is what I should put here. Sure, the guy may be a little crazy -- but crazy people make the good stuff. Awesome script writer; one of my favourite aspects of NGE.

This guy is literally my hero. His work inspired me to study film and led me to decide that becoming a filmmaker is absolutely what I want to do with my life. If I can ever make anything that can touch other people - any other people - the way his works have touched me (and so many others, as you can see just by reading the comments on this page), then I think I'll have done something successful with my life. And I hope someday to tell him so in person.

My favourite anime director. I love how he uses the medium and thinks outside the box, especially when it comes to character interaction and to show not just what, but how characters think.
He is a true artists, and is one of the few anime directors I know use the medium to it's full potential.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that Evangelion has changed my whole life.

There were many great lines that drove me to assess my way of life like "He only does what he's told to because it's the easiest way for him to get through life.", or Asuka's logic that everyone will like her as long as she remains the best. It may seem contradicting, but I used to be a mixture of both Shinji and Asuka; now that I'm older and more mature, I'm more like Misato :p

Thank you Anno-san for making this great work and giving us many things to ponder about regarding our way of life :D

truly one of the great anime gods of our time. the fact that he can make two versions of Evangelion have them both be equally amazing speaks volumes.
