TV Anime 'Uma Musume: Pretty Derby' Announces Cast Members

An event for Uma Musume franchise on Sunday has announced cast members for the TV anime adaptation via AbemaTV. A CM featuring the opening theme song has also been released. Both opening and ending theme songs will be performed by the seven Uma Musume cast members. The anime is slated for Spring 2018 via Tokyo MX, Kansai TV, Saga TV, and BS11. AbemaTV will also stream the anime online. The first broadcast will be aired for one hour.

Silence Suzuka: Marika Kouno (Mitsuboshi Colors)
Toukai Teio: Machico (Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka? Isogashii desu ka? Sukutte Moratte Ii desu ka?)
Vodka: Ayaka Ohashi (Masamune-kun no Revenge)
Daiwa Scarlet: Chisa Kimura
Gold Ship: Hitomi Ueda (Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters)
Mejiro McQueen: Saori Oonishi (Toji no Miko)
Tazuna Surugawa: Yukiyo Fujii (Sakasama no Patema)
Trainer: Kouji Okino (Boku no Hero Academia 2nd Season)
Hana Toujou: Megumi Toyoguchi (Persona 3 the Movie series)

Opening Theme Song: "Make Debut!"
Ending Theme Song: "Glow Up Shine!"

The first two episodes will be pre-screened during an event on March 25 at Toho Cinemas Roppongi Hills. All of the cast members of the seven Uma Musume and Kouji Okino (Trainer) will appear for a talk show. The anime will also have two special AnimeJapan 2018 stages on the same date. Azumi Waki (Special Week), Marika Kouno (Silence Suzuka), and Machico (Toukai Teio) will grace the first stage via the Toho Animation Booth, followed by an appearance at the Yellow stage attended by the seven Uma Musume cast members.

Sundays 24:00 (Mondays 0:00 a.m.) via Tokyo MX, followed by BS11, Kansai TV, and Saga TV. AbemaTV will also make anime available online.

Reading the manga. It’s cute, though not much is happening yet (sports-wise). So far, the translated chapters are largely just MC going around trying to get settled in, while making friends.

P.A Works cute girl shows have been disappointing other then exceptions. This'll probably land under the "trying to do too much and not do enough" category.

I don't expect anything amazing or anything but if I can say one thing though... there will be doujins out there, pretty sure of it.

But in all honesty I am actually looking forward to it since it looks pretty fun to watch.

Nice. I've been waiting to hear news on this for a while now. I had a lot of doubts as to how this would have turned out, but as far as production is concerned, I'm satisfied.

This looks just as visually great as I expected. I have to give PA Works the credit it deserves since they always come through with their character designs and background art. The cast picks also look pretty decent, with a couple notable picks here and there. And I do like how the opening theme sounds. So who knows, this could be a lot of fun.

Well, the idea looks pretty funny and interesting, especially since I like horses. But comparing these settings with real horse-breeding, makes me laugh.

I know Machiko from SukaSuka, and she was pretty good as Ithea, Azumi Waki is really good too, i loved her Galko and Maika.

It's the only anime I'm looking forward to next season and I'm a little bit worried because I don't know who Azumi Waki or Machico are, hopefully they are good enough to carry main roles.

This is the type of show that I would never even take an interest in if it wasn't made by PA Works.

I don't want to have high hopes but I feel like it might end up being better than people expect (considering that they expect very little that is)
