Web Anime of 'Girlfriend (♪)' Announced for Fall 2016

The official Twitter of the musical game version of Girlfriend (Kari) titled Girlfriend (♪) (Girlfriend (Note)) has announced that it will get a web anime adaptation for Fall 2016. A 30-second promotional video for the anime was also released.

Synopsis
One day, after the ending of World Dance Battle Royale, it has been unexpectedly decided that the nonet will work together with "Ootori" members from Ootoriutain High School to create a drama. The drama is an original story based on Cinderella with an arrangement. It has been decided that Momoko Asahina will play Cinderella and Miyabi Kunishiro the prince. Also, an unexpected role has been decided for Kokomi Shiina. A drama between a slightly different nonet and Ootori members has begun.

The most frequent complaint is "nothing happens", I guess you could try one episode and decide for yourself.

Other reasons it's hated so much is because it lacks real dept due to the large cast and broad focus. Not a lot of action. Not a lot of comedy. And the episodes are pretty much hit or miss. It's very simple too, so if you're looking for something complicated it's not going to sit well.

It's a SoL in heart and soul. It's a feel good anime if you can/want to sympathyze with the characters. So that's one of the reasons why you might want to watch it.

The lack of heavy drama makes it light hearted. The drama it has is mild and important for the setting/stories, overcoming problems and such.

Maybe that makes the series seem like it's even less focused on plot and character development than other SoL, so people judge it to be too superficial? That'd be my guess.

Yep, There wasn't enough Matsuri screentime in the original anime.

Not really bad in that standard. I personally have enjoyed the original personally. So I think if you like Moe you would like this one. Just my opinion though.

I feel like I'm going to be one of the only people who watch this, given that I was one of very few people to enjoy the original series as well.

But yeah, I'm kinda amazed that this is happening, but I'm definitely not complaining (although I might be hallucinating about this instead).

You know...nothing is more surprising than seeing an anime you like which was generally disliked and forgettable on MAL suddenly appears once again without warning with cuter artwork than before and then announcing it would air in the freaking next season

What's more, Momoko..the cutest girl in the series....will be the main character this time
