'Terra Formars Revenge' to Premiere in Spring 2016

A scan from the 50th issue of Weekly Young Jump magazine, to be released on November 12, is announcing that the second season of Terra Formars, titled Terra Formars Revenge, will be produced by LIDENFILMS and TYO Animations. New staff members will be involved with the production, while cast members from the first season will reprise their roles. The series is expected to broadcast in April 2016.

Character Design: Atsushi Ikariya (Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works (TV)), Cagetzu Aizawa

Terra Formars is written by Yu Sasuga and drawn by Kenichi Tachibana. It began serialization in Young Jump in January 2011. The series received its first anime adaptation by LIDENFILMS, and aired in September 2014 for a total of 13 episodes.

Not sure about the BD/DVD but the Manga sells very well, probably the reason this gets a second season despite how crap the first was. Its like the 7th or 8th best seeking manga this year atm.

Nope, but it's the 8th best selling manga series this year and there's also a live action movie coming out soon so the BD/DVD sales didn't really matter in this case.

I don't get the logic behind this, not at all. There are people who aren't aware of this series and just happened to stumble upon this announcement. Think of it as sort of an introduction or motivation to start the series. The spoiler tag is there for a reason, you know. It might not be mandatory, but how about being a little bit considerate towards others? There is always a slight chance of ruining the experience for others.

The feeling of Terra Formars getting a season 2, must the same feeling a cancer patient gets after they go into remission and start living a normal happy life again...only to later get news that the cancer has returned aggressively and they're now terminal.

Interesting to see they picked up a new studio and staff. Seeing as how even though it sucked, it was super popular in Japan.

If it sold well, but they were still willing to admit that there were faults and picked up new staff members to do better, then this season might actually be watchable.
