Yeah, most Garo shows serve well as standalones.

I hope the directing is fine, the first series was really well directed in its 2nd half so I'm a bit disappointed to see its not the same person

I agree. It's like a different director directed the 2nd half of it, or maybe it was directed by a different director?
it was the same guy, its just the series had alot of build up so when the script took a notch up so did the directing with it. All i know is they need a scene even half as good as the fight in episode 18.

Otherwise the cast is not too impressive, Expected more names from first series since it was great.

I didn't think this coming out in the fall. Better finish the first season.

Oh wow all of the five voice actors were in the first season of Garo. But more Romi Park and Daisuke Namikawa is great!

I took a look at some of the works by that Shou Aikawa guy who's gonna be co-handling the series composition and it turns out he's responsible for the script of Chaos Dragon.

Oh, yeah. I forgot about that anime. That's the worst anime I have ever watched. Let's see if he delivers The Twelve Kingdoms or Chaos Dragon with this one.

All the members of the cast so far were involved with the first season, so I guess we'll see their characters again.

I took a look at some of the works by that Shou Aikawa guy who's gonna be co-handling the series composition and it turns out he's responsible for the script of Chaos Dragon. Pretty ridiculous considering he was also responsible for the script of the original FMA, which I enjoyed. A lot of his other works are also rated rather low. With that kind of inconsistency, I might lower my expectations and tread lightly heading into this new season. Hopefully it's enjoyable though, I really enjoyed the first season.

Sadly no Kobayashi, but the new staff looks somewhat promising. All the announced VAs starred in the first season, with Namikawa, Horiuchi and Park voicing the main characters. I wonder how that'll fit in this show. Anyway, looking forward to more Garo.

This seems a bit more promising than staff-wise than the first Garo. I hope this will actually have a more consistent writing.
The first one had the potential to be good, but unfortunately it's not written that well(especially the episodic episodes. Most of them were not good).

Ohhh I really don't know about Shou Aikawa. I hope this is going to be okay. He's really hit or miss and when he misses he misses as bad as any writer I've ever seen. I actually consider him overall the worst script writer in anime of all time particularly in the 80's. At the very least it doesn't seem like he's handling the scripts themselves which could be a saving grace if he goes batshit.

Really? I have only watched one of his works, The Twelve Kingdom. And it's actually really good(except the last arc). I hope this one will be as good.

Hope it to be better than the last one, and that they don't kill another Lara alike character for the MC development....
