That's the only time I ever remember a Blu-ray volume for a TV series going over 100,000 and scarcely being able to believe it. I remember figuring it'd be a big seller and top the year but never figured anything would take that record from Bakemonogatari. I wonder how it might have done were it released at the turn of the decade when the anime Blu-ray market was much stronger. Anyway I believe it finished at around 120,000-130,000 or so which given the latest singles and best collection seems to be about the theoretical limit for Love Live and about where I expect the movie to end up.

I know Gundam Seed Destiny had some volumes go over 100,000 but that was DVD and a pretty different market as well.



I don't know why anyone ever expected those shows to do well though. It seems borderline delusional and at best wishful thinking on its fans part if anything. Just because MAL has a raging hard on for some of these shows doesn't mean Japan is interested in buying them.

I never bother to check One Piece DVD sales because I thought that One Piece had a low DVD sales since it's a long running.

The log collections sell high. The normal DVD volume sell 1k average.

Maybe because Fisherman is even more terrible in the anime or a typical decrease in sales.

I know that JoJo franchsie had pretty decent sales but I didn't expect it to be this good. Just hope they announce the so called Diamond is Unbreakable.

Good for DxD for the slight increase , hope it's enough to guarantee another season.

Exceptions? Ecchi anime usually don't do great in Disc sales.

The mainstream audience rarely buys home video releases of late nigth tv anime.
But nice try at trolling.

What is with To-Love, Kangoku Gakuen, Shinmai or DXD?

Ecchi animes may die very soon.

"My Wife is the Student Council President" and "Shimoneta: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn't Exist" flopped badly in Japan home video market. "Monster Musume" is also on track to flop in Japan home video market, too.
Otherwise, non-ecchi animes like "Overlord" and "Himouto! Umaru-chan" are on track to sell huge in Japan home video market.

On the other hand, the market of Hental animes is still struggling; , it will still survive, but it will never be back in the Golden Era in 90's.

Maybe mainstream audience are just getting more tried of watching animes with nudity/fanservice. I think that in the future, most of animes would have almost zero nudity/fanservice scenes, except the relatively small amount of low-budget hentai animes.

Daily Ranking at other retailers. LL Movie strong everywhere as expected, so it'll probably be underestimated on Stalker as well, since Season 2 Vol.1 was heavily underestimated (60,214 on Stalker vs 82,515 at Oricon).

It got 8k sales for combined though which isn't too bad, as it's in the top 6 sellers there.

I highly doubt it will finish. The manga author has said that it's just making preparations for the ending of the manga. So if it gets cut at any time, the important story stuff won't be unfinished

3k isn't top seller. It's average or above average. But the manga is still running so non-high sales don't matter much.

From what I read the manga might be ending so this might be the last season.

At least it's still selling well i guess. Definitely not any where near as much as previous seasons, but nonetheless it's still one of the top sellers. Hopefully it's enough to get future seasons....because i so need the current manga arcs animated.

Pretty much. Their other anime do well tv ratings wise but if they want disc sales, they have to please the otaku crowds (generally).
