Seraph actually has better adaptation Kekkai Sensen. Kekkai Sensen this very summarized, so there are parts that are not understood. Are only 10 episodes and the other 2 are original. Japan does not care about good adaptation, only that the anime is entertaining. http://mangafox.me/manga/kekkai_sensen_mafuugai_kessha/

Japan looks at the whole picture when deciding whether to buy or not. They do not look at only the "story" as some in the West seem to think is the most important. Factors such as rewatchability, story, pacing, seiyuu performance, music, character interactions, character background, artwork, animation, etc. Enjoyment derives from an anime adaptation fulfilling the majority of these factors, and anime is afterall an entertainment medium. An anime adaptation will not sell if it is not enjoyable to the person who is watching it, it's as simple as that.

I doubt this is only restricted to Japan, because i'm sure many of us apply the same criteria on whether to buy a from of entertainment or not... but price seems to be more of a factor in other countries than Japan. However, as for other working people, Japanese fans do not have unlimited money to buy anime... so they typically pick 2 to 3 anime to buy every season, and have to pass on some other "weaker" anime (in their opinion) that may have fulfilled most of their buy criteria.

You not understand what I said. Seraph has better adaptation Kekkai Sensen, because Kekkai Sensen summarizes much of the original material. Not to mention the other aspects.

PS: Japan is not like us, that we fix at everything. A person living in Japan told me.

Kalafina and LiSA are the best now if only Angela was in the charts. T^T

Super glad that Saenai is doing well! Such a great show :)

Wow the estimates number of Kekkai Sensen is very intriguing, I hope it can reach it if it still maintains to do well in the rankings for the remaining 2-3 weeks.

Why is Owari no Seraph losing? I thought there was a huge hype
And what about DxD, Kuroko and Arslan? And what the actual F Saenai on 1st place?
You guys definitely don't know what to spend money on

Seraph simply isn't that good of an adaptation, besides animation issues that pop out now and then the pace, atmosphere and voice acting of the anime is wrong. Wit Studio and the production committee made a major mistake in giving Seraph to a rookie director. Kekkai Sensen in comparison is when the highly talented Rie Matsumoto finally gets the recognition she deserves as one of the most talented young directors out there.

So have Death Parade and Yuri Kuma Arashi been released yet, or are they selling badly and not ranking?

Death Parade will be released on June 17. Yuri Kuma Arashi was released on March 25, and sold quite poorly. Here is a summary of the current known sales as below.

Vol.1: 1,294~1,353 (BD: 1,148~1,161, DVD: 146~192)
Vol.2: *,854~*,859 (BD: 854~859, did not rank in weekly Top 300 DVDs)
Vol.3: To be released on May 27

Vol.1 DVD ranked 266, below an Idol Image DVD that ranked 264 and sold 192, but this week a new lower bound of 146 DVDs on the DVD extended list was revealed, so it is safe to say it sold at least 146 DVDs. Vol.2 dropped 34% from Vol.1, due to Vol.2 DVD not ranking... but ignoring the Vol.1 DVD, the drop is 25.61%. Vol.1 also charted 3 weeks compared to Vol.2 charting for only 2 weeks, so it would be a smaller drop if Vol.2 ranked one more week.

I drop kekkai sensen in the 2nd episode, maybe I should give it a second chance, or at least watch a couple more episode to see if it gets better.

This weeks sales looks pretty bad.

So have Death Parade and Yuri Kuma Arashi been released yet, or are they selling badly and not ranking?

And I'm happy with that Kekkai Sensen prediction. It's been very good and I hope for a sequel. But those Ore Monogatri!!, Rin-ne, Souma and Yamada-kun predictions make me so sad :(

Those Saekano’s BD covers are love. I'd go and buy those BD limited editions, if I could.

Next heroine’s BD cover looks great:

Season 2 can’t come soon enough...

iDOLM@STER and Uta no Prince-sama merchandise usually sell pretty well, so no surprise there.

May 19, 2015 9:19 PM by RPG2000

^ the site use Google and Twitter to calculate the point, much better than MAL
Your argument is full of subjective. "It's shit because I don't agree with the ranking"
And when you say something is popular you need to give the detail numbers.
And when you say good score you need to screen cap the score.

19k estimated for first vol is quite high, should be around 17k.
And with event ticket... should be around 13-14k average

other BD/ DVD version should get around 5k.
We have 27 days left before vol 1 release, and this anime looks like will have ~ 3 weeks extra of buying, and its stalked ~4k now. So we have ~8 weeks, each week it will get around 1k, total ~8k, and with 5k above and 4k already stalked , we will have about 17k vol 1.
What surprises me more is this show doesn't get high rating on Japan community

How much does this show score on Nico channel ?

That site is really irrelevant considering the shows in the top are completely shit. I mean even Ginatma is really low on the list, so yeah those opinions are irrelevant. Look at Pixiv and Twitter where Kekkai Sensen is really popular.

Also Nico is giving the series good scores.

Woah wait a minute. 19.6k estimate for Kekkai sensen? I'm really glad its doing well but that's a really high jump.

If you are curious about how the Stalker estimates are calculated, it is by this formula:

(weekly average points) * days until release + current accumulated points

Take the Kekkai Sensen BD Amazon edition: http://www27392u.sakura.ne.jp/show.cgi?n=B00V7YDWSK

1,473 points in a week (from May 13 to May 19), so 1,473 / 7 for the weekly average points. There are 28 days until release, and it has currently accumulated 4,473 points.

So we have 1,473 / 7 * 28 + 4,473 = 10,365, which is pretty much the same as the 10,367 it says there.

So, the current Stalker prediction is pretty much heavily dependent on the past 7 days performance. We can take it to around late April, say April 30 and calculate what the prediction would've been, and you will see why the jump is so sharp.

379 / 7 * 47 + 1,517 = 4,062. So a jump of over 6K from April 30's prediction to May 19's prediction. It is nice to see the momentum shifts through the Stalker data and the estimates provided, but I would not take the exact predictions too seriously until maybe 1 to 2 weeks until release. Kekkai Sensen has done really well during the last 2 weeks in the rankings, but it would need to do basically the same for the last 28 days to meet the May 19 Stalker prediction, and would need to do even better until release to do higher than the current prediction.

Thanks Ejc I think I have a good idea how the estimates work now. Anyways based on your explanation, a drop in the estimates won't be surprising unless Kekkai Sensen continues to do well in the rankings for the remaining 2-3 weeks.

OnS hype was only MAL probably. It's surprising that it's not doing so well since it has so many fujoshi baits.
