Nowhere did they say this
Also people complaining about the quality of a crf 17.5 encode because the file size seems small are clueless about how encoding works and you shouldn't listen to them.

Seeing how Commiesubs, by their own will (as stated by themselves in the torrent's comment section), uploaded a lower quality rip of the BD, is there any news of a group subbing it too?
I've been away from the scene for some time, and I don't know anymore if Thora Anime can be trusted and/or is quick, and if there are any other fansubs competing for this release.

heh waiting for a sub too, should be good, if it is about the same level as The girl who leapt through time, it'll be spectacular.

...and btw what I buy... I don't brag about it or feel the need to overly criticize other people when knowing there are infinite sets of different circumstances around the world so I do hate the attitude 'if I'm buying, everybody should do the same' that is plain wrong at the start, comparing yourself vs the world and think it's the same. Get real in that regard :D
was i using it as a means of a generalization or self justification for downloading it? i never said that other people should/do the same. read it properly next time

Contains no English subtitles, sorry, only Japanese subs. It almost doesn't need them, it is so well done. They don't even speak in parts.

Beautiful!!!

shame. oh well. not a problem. ill just download a subtitle file when i import it.

how would you compare it to the girl who leapt through time?

I've only seen the live action version of Girl Who Leapt Through Time, sorry. Hard to compare apples to oranges.

what about summer wars?

edit. you havent seen that either. how would you rate it compared to...arrietty?

Much better than Arietty. Actually I am not that fond of Arietty. Maybe I need to rate it down, but it's from Ghibli, I know... Hmm, looks like I forgot to list Arietty. My list is not complete.

Watched all my imports that came today, all five of them so I must go to bed... Tired.

ok then. cant wait for this to get subbed, bluray raws are already out.

Did you watch it in Japanese even though you don't speak Japanese?

Edit: Never mind, haha. Looked at your profile. Glad to hear it's good.

if i had the option to see it in cinemas i gladly would have, but alas, we dont get anime in theaters over here

Now I know Austalia's a big country so it depends on where you are but Wolf Children was shown in theatres in 8 australian cities back in september.

yeah it was shown at a madman convention i believe.
as far as i remember it was either 1 or 2 screens, for 1 day.
it sold out on preorders. by the time i knew it was already too late.
shame though. we do occasionally get anime in normal theatres. but ghibli is pretty much the only one. and i wasnt in to anime back when princess mononoke or the older ghibli classics were still airing, and ive just bought all the blurays instead.

What you're saying is entitlement. "I would pay for it first, but I don't have the opportunity. Therefore it's okay to steal it." You implicitly assume that you are the decision maker, or in other words, that you legitimately own a copy of the movie, which you do not. If you weren't entitled the only choices you would consider are streaming/buying it legally or not watching it all. You would implicitly assume that the production company owns their product, which obviously they do.

People do make concrete pro-piracy arguments ("I wouldn't have bought it if I didn't pirate it"), but those arguments are irrelevant to the morality of it. Illegal downloading infringes upon the owners rights, and that's that. Rights have to come first, even if pirating is actually beneficial.

Not that it stops me from illegally downloading. I just recognize that I'm an asshole who doesn't respect the rights of producers, lol.

well then, maybe youre right.

if i had the option to see it in cinemas i gladly would have, but alas, we dont get anime in theaters over here so.
still doesn't change that im going to watch a rip and buy it once i see it, from everything ive heard, this movie doesnt seem like it will disappoint

You and I think we deserve to enjoy something for free, and then decide at our leisure if and when we want to pay for it. So yes, we are both entitled in this regard, as the vast majority of entertainment consumers are.

id agree with you if you were talking about a normal movie or something that i could have had the chance to pay to see it in cinemas, but unfortunately, and this applies for the vast majority of anime, it isnt even shown in cinemas outside of anime conventions. which generally arent even in my state.

so its either buy something ive never seen and am not guaranteed to like or watch a rip first, then if i like it, buy it right away.

its really not being entitled, due to the nature of anime, there isnt often another way.

is there a problem with wanting to watch something first to see if you enjoy it before you decide if you want to buy it or not? (if you're someone who buys anime)
