Three Additional Episodes of Saki Achiga-hen Announced

According to Monthly Shonen GanGan magazine, three additional episodes of Saki: Achiga-hen - Episode of Side-A were announced to be aired following the main TV series. The semifinal will be concluded by the extra episodes.

The previous chapter (in which Nodoka and Tacos went to see the match - and meet Achiga) left bad taste for me.
Although Achiga did get foreshadowed on... ch 76.
Knowing both sides is pretty fun though, since we get to know who will be going with Shiraitodai on the finals.

Well, at least with how Saki is bimonthly now, I think we will get the chapters released faster... crossing my hands on the quality though, since I doubt we'll get side b semi finals before Achiga chapter ends... which would be in 2 months at least.

Well, this should cover Sumire's, Takami's, Seiko's .... game (in other word, jibou - fukushou)
Although it would be very rushed for 3 episodes to bring them to taishou match... depends on the length, I guess.

hope this three episode would focus more on the mahjong playing, as the mahjong playing is a bit lacking in this series as compared to the first series.

How does this make it pointless? It wouldn't work as flashbacks - you can't build several schools worth of cast purely in flashbacks.
And it's so much better being able to see both halves of the draw rather than just one. That's just my opinion though.

Oh and don't give Ritz ideas - 3 months of nothing but Miyamori flashback in the manga was quite enough already thanks.

I'm not satisfied with this season since it's a bit rush and the plot vague. The matches were either too fast or too slow.

Sooooo... When will the 3 episode be aired?? Still weekly or don't tell me it will be like as what Bakemonogatari did - like airing it every 2-3 months?? ahahah... I'm really hoping it's not... :))

I don't think an official distribution method or time has been announced. I don't see any updates on the official site either. They'll have to be web streams though because Oda Nobuna no Yabou has already taken the time slot over.

Hopefully Gokumi doesn't pull a Shaft on us, but I don't think they will.

I really hope they air soon. Last spring anime I need to finish.

Love it. But I'm still very dissatisfied because Saki's screen-time is waaaaay to short and, as someone stated before, there's too much needless backstory on other schools when that time could have been devoted to Saki and friends.

I'm hoping and praying that a follow-up season will commence.
...
And hopefully it won't take years to make, like the delay between "Saki" and "Side A".

And if you haven't watched Saki, then watching this would only be half the experience.

jesseman1993, let me guess, you haven't watched original Saki, right?
Truth is, first half of Achiga was painfully average (except for glorious Toki raping Kuro episode). It became really exciting in Teru's match.

this show i liked at first but the more i watch it the lamer i think it is maybe its the moe-ness that turns me off, i think its funny how serious and dramatic it is when they lay down their mahjong pieces
