Caution! The style of the announcement was quite unusual. Please keep it in mind that this could be a mistake.
In the web radio program of Dengeki Bunko, Key's PC game "Little Busters!" was announced to get a TV anime adaptation. The announcement was made in the commercial of Dengeki Visual Arts 2012 Spring issue, which will be released on April 10th.

edit: The file of the web radio was removed.

Scenario/script for Clannad was written by Jun Maeda, KyoAni just animated it, they did not write the story...
Let me correct you here: Original Scenario written by Jun Maeda. KyoAni's staff rewrote it and adapted it to a TV format. It was THEY who made a mess when putting it together in a different format than intended. There are key differences between a Visual Novel and an anime, and you have challenges when adapting it. Clannad's end makes sense when seeing it in a VN format but it came out of nowhere for anime viewers aside from very subtle clues they they were forced to add just to make sure it wasn't a complete Deus Ex.

I'll not even get into the completely rewritten arcs like Yukine's.

Be fair people, KyoAni is the only way to go here.
They have the best art around, and they stick as close to the original work as is possible in an anime adaption. That's the only way to even try to accomplish the same level of the VN's of Key.
P.A. Works and Production I.G are close in certain aspects imo, but they can't seem to keep the same level on every project.
Anyway, as happy as I am with the anime adaption being announced, I will only get a heart attack out of enthousiasm when they announce KyoAni as animation studio.
What exactly do you mean by "be fair"? We are talking real possibilities not fairy tale fantasies. Visual Arts even went on record blaming Kyoto Animation's policy for the fact there hadn't been a Little Busters anime (even though they have done several other works with it, including manga and even cross-over materials with Angel Beats). And honestly, Kyoto Animation isn't as flawless as some pretend them to be (they fumbled horribly with the Clannad After Story ending for one thing).

And honestly, If people come into Little Busters expecting something similar to Kanon, Air or Clannad they are in for a terrible dissapointment. At the very least the suave protagonists are completely absent...unless you want to count Natsume Kyousuke as such, but he's not the protagonist....sort of.

Well, with the president of Visual Arts calling Dengeki a 'idiot' for leaking the Anime Adaption I guess this is (sort of) the confirmation we were hoping for.

You will be wondering how Kud could go through what she did in her route after the secret to the world has been revealed. At least, that's what I did.

Shoot, that's the first route I did and I hoping it'd clarify that eventually.
*sigh* You really can't accept a little suspension of disbilief...

Nested Spoiler up there added for those silly enough to click it once. Don't click it unless you want to spoil yourself.

Nope, not gonna click that.

Kyoto Animation's next project?

I heard it's good... What's so good about it though?
Its written by the same guy who wrote Clannad. In other words its a tear jerker.

Not really.

The Refrain segment at the end is very sad and will likely lead to you crying, but it has nowhere near the emotional (read: sadness) value that Clannad did. Little Busters is much more lighthearted, fun, and silly, with plenty of jokes and likable characters that will make you have much more fun than you did while watching Clannad. It does get pretty serious later on and towards the end of some specific routes but none of that is on the same level as what you would find in After Story. Heck, even the common route of Clannad was depressing most of the time.
Thats what i ment by tear jerker. Im preety sure i didnt give any mention of them being on the same level of sadness.

Should I play the visual novel, or wait for the possible anime to come out?

If you can get your hands on, I definitely recommend you to play the visual novel. The original source tend to be better, in case the anime turn out to be a huge disappointment (you never know). It's worth it too.
