Best Young Seiyu Rankings Selected by 30 Veteran Seiyu

In a TV program aired on November 12th, TV Asahi has announced the most notable young seiyu rankings based on the poll of 30 veteran seiyu. The definition of "young" in the rankings was under 40.

*2, 66 pts Sawashiro Miyuki
*3, 47 pts Seki Tomokazu
*4, 40 pts Miyano Mamoru
*5, 38 pts Hirano Aya
*6, 36 pts Irino Miyu
*7, 32 pts Takeuchi Junko
*8, 27 pts Mizuta Wasabi
*9, 25 pts Toyosaki Aki
10, 17 pts Kimura Subaru

In the same program, they have also announced the most respected veteran seiyu rankings based on the poll of 100 young seiyu.

Sugita and Fukuyama are two of the most talented seiyuu, I believe. It's a pity.

I've noticed that people in the industry from the past often have something against the whole moeblob culture of these days, so it wouldn't be a surprised that they dislike the current moeblob seiyuus too.

What the. She voiced some male characters and what's funny is that I just finished watching Kaiba where she voiced Popo (a male character).

Pretty talented seiyuu.

Good to see Miyano there.

All questions about her #1 spot disappear once you realize that she voiced both EDWARD ELRIC (FMA), TERESA (Claymore) *and* OSAKI NANA (Nana).

That's some serious talent, believably voicing anything from a bullheaded boy to an ultrafeminine tranquil lady-knight beauty to a boisterous female punk rocker.

Rather funny how she falls just short of the age-40 criteria for young seiyuu and is HIGHLY likely to top the veteran-seiyuu list this time next year (the high points for veterans being due to a larger voting pool passing out the points).

...kinda strange how they claim everywhere she speaks fluent Korean but she never does Korean dubs of her own Japanese roles, though. Or is she too expensive for them to afford??

Yes, that's the one. The streaming site I watch says it's an CM to Doraemon because the TV channel that aired the show also shows Doraemon, and according to the show they talked how big is change of this "national" anime's seiyuu swap in 2005. (+ being 14 and 2nd role to get Giant. He had one role before getting it)

Well I guess it is all taste, but I personally think Omigawa has one of the worst voice actress ever. It is both voice + acting ability wise. She give too much power in her voice when it is not needed, over-exaggerate everything to make my ears bleed, kills atmosphere by having exact same voice and emotion in every single character she is involved, and most of all, the fact that she appears a lot in series from SHAFT.

Thus, I never ever expected her to be in the list of respective seiyuus, knowing her acting is atrocious.
