Martial Arts masterpieces , they are a must read for anyone who likes fighting.
The main characters are completely in contrast with each other, both have the school element ( its more importantant in Veritas) , both are good stuff :)
Tip : Veritas is a manhwa so read it from left to right .

Two very similar mangas, whom both share lots of elements; martial arts, ecchi, love, comedy, drama, masters, and a love interest for our hero who can beat him five kinds of silly.
To sum it up; Change 123 is the more mature, adult version of Kenichi and by far superior.

Both History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi and Holyland center around a downtrodden protagonist who is forced into fights of ever escalating difficulty. Both learn moves from multiple styles and have to conquer their inner fear to fight delinquents, with each fight a consequence of having survived the previous fights.
Of the two, the protagonist Yuu in Holyland is a bit more of a self-made fighter in that he tends to learn his moves from his friends and opponents rather than from an illustrious pool of masters.
In the end Holyland trades in Kenichi's ecchi elements and over the top anime-style martial arts for a more realistic style, that describes real street fight maneuvers and their consequences.
Kenichi fights to protect others, Yuu fights so that he can have some place in the world outside of his bedroom and both of their journeys are well worth reading.

Both mangas have parallel stories of talentless, downtrodden boy who work hard to gain gain strength and improve themselves. in kenichi the main character develops his martial arts skills in a dojo through sheer hard work and will just like ippo who trains in a boxing gym and improves through determination rather than talent. both are superb mangas a lover of one will surely enjoy the other.

Both are fighting shonen and have detailed explanation of technique and styles of various martial arts.
The great difference is that in Aiki the Hero is already a master and in History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi the Hero is learning from many different masters.
