Its time to Duel wait that's wrong does thou want to be consumed into darkness. Chaosic Rune is a dark , serious story but has some comedy elements as well. The manga reminds of yugioh but is more bloodier , gorier , darker than yugioh and the way it uses the cards are different but at the same time similar to it and the fact the fate of the world rests on a life or death game using cards which is awesome.
Plot: the story of chaosic rune is about this guy name Ryouga who survives a mysterious plan crash and has now idea why he is the only survivor. He sees a horrifying creature devouring the people who were on plane. At first he thinks it's just a dream however , it seems his dream is quiet real.so now he must go on a quest to uncover the truth about the incident and why he is given a powerful card called death rex.He must face many enemies along the way to stop him from uncovering the truth. In addition, he encounter friends and rivals who also give there support to him in his hour of need.
Art: the artwork for the manga is good for the characters and environments as well.the artists also do a good job in having each of the monsters look different from one another. The appearances of the monsters to very terrifying to very cute and so on.
Characters : the characters are good they have variety and have there motivations for what they do.Some characters play a bigger role than others but they all play there parts well.
Enjoyment: I really enjoyed this manga I really the action of the story and the characters.I really like the blood and gore in this. Also, I liked the life and death battles and how it reminds me of yugioh but at the same time is different as well. However, there is no life points and if you lose the match you die , get eaten , or disappear.
Overall : the manga is great despite the fact the ending wasn't what I hope for. This is a must read manga for those who love blood , gore , mystery , fighting and where the fate of the world rests on a card game which involves fighting to the death.so give this manga a try it might become one of your favorites.
For Chaosic Rune fans: Have you ever wanted to see what franchise kicked off the whole "card game" genre of anime/manga, but you couldn't get into the anime because it was too lighthearted? Try the manga for any of the Yugioh anime - it's MUCH darker than the TV show it's for.
For 5D's fans: You've finished the series. Do you want something that's a manlier/darker version of 5D's? Look no further than Chaosic Rune. To quote TV Tropes: "It's like if ~Yu-Gi-Oh!~ was written by Bruce Campbell and drawn by Chuck Norris."
If throwing Gantz and Hunter x Hunter into a blender results in Psyren, then throwing any of the Yugioh series into a blender with Gantz results in Chaosic Rune.
Seriously, the only differences between the 2 series is that Gantz is much more graphic, and Chaosic Rune uses cards to fight instead of guns. However, both series have a lot of fanservice, and both are very violent.
Both of these manga put a group of teenage kids in a life-or-death free for all situation, and their only way out is literally to fight for their lives. The horror element in both manags is pretty graphic, and there is a lot of killing as well. The protagonist is a pretty level headed loner who will kill if he has to, and has a childhood friend that follows him and most likely has a crush on him. The plot for Chaosic Rune has a bit more fantasy with monsters and such, while guns and other weapons are mainly used in HSOTD. There are decent levels of ecchi in both manga.
