Synopsis

Sakura Kousuke is a boy who strives to throw away a past mired in regret. He transfers to a new school for his second year of high school, believing it will give him a chance to come clean.

Unbeknownst to him, however, the appearance of five other "Sakura"s in his class will bring the past to his present, forcing him to come to terms with himself, his old friends, and a girl who, though being Kousuke's complete opposite in terms of personality, also knows him better than anyone else.

Sorry for all the readers who don't speak portuguese, but the target audience aren't you. This review is for me or any curious person who speaks portuguese.

But it has so much more heart than other manga of its ilk. I started reading because it looked mildly interesting, prepared to drop it within a couple of chapters should it become too same-y or tripe. But I binged the whole thing in an afternoon, because it absolutely engrossed me start to finish.

The ending felt a bit rushed (which at this ...

Things you should know about Sakura Discord:

1) It's drawn by the same mangaka as Jitsu wa Watashi wa (Actually, I Am), and the artwork is almost identical. Like it or hate it, the artwork is very distinct. Also, the humor is similar in both cases: lots of slapstick, lots of shouting, lots of over-the-top and exaggerated faces.

2) Unlike Jitsu wa Watashi wa, Sakura Discord has no supernatural elements. It also deals with some more serious issues (all of the characters have some reasonably weighty back stories), although it does manage to keep an appropriately light-hearted tone all the time. The focus ...
