Soma is basically Addicted to Curry's shounen version, we have a main male who's a great cook and keeps winning cooking battles. Well, Soma has ecchi when people eat food, Addicted to Curry has ecchi in other parts xD

Both involves food/cooking

Well, they're both about hardworking, genius cooks (one of bread, one of curry). Addicted to Curry has a little more mature attitude and theme (and is a little bit more ecchi); Yakitate!! is a little bit more shonen styled. Both are very enjoyable and have about the same amount of humor and personality to them, though Addicted to Curry has a little more about individual character backgrounds and stories. Both will make you very hungry.

The main characters are pretty similar with both of them being lecherous perverts who act like clowns, but secretly capable in their own fields ("sweeping" for Ryo and making curry for makito), always surprising others with their surprising skills. Also both of them are comedy romance - with the comedy rather similar to each other. Although differing in plot they have a similar feel to them. Recommend try reading both.

both of them about cooking.

Both have need of a chef for the restaurant, and a relationship forms between them sprouting from the restaurant.

Apart from "Addicted to Curry" having a ecchi-stamp and being less serious than Chocolat, I feel that these two series have a similiar feeling. I can't really point out what causes this, but I think that if you enjoy one, you might like the other. Give it a try!

Funny and perverted antics of Onizuka.. Moreover, Onizuka and Makito looks similar in a way actually...
