Both are about tennis, and both main characters are about the same age. Both are very discriptive in moves and such, and Prince of Tennis and Baby Steps both are a very enjoyable read.

Both are very similar in style and theme. Smash is about badminton, while Baby Steps is about tennis. Both leads are new to the sport but display immeasurable talent and growth with each match.
They focus not only on the sport being played but also on the relationships between each character. New friends are made as the story progresses as well as rivals. Most importantly, the romance aspect is heavily focused on and enhance the story's enjoyment to any shounen lover.

Baby Steps and Eyeshield 21 not only target the same demographic, but do so quite similarly. Both series revolve around a character with a latent potential to succeed in a sport. Although both characters do not readily involve themselves with their sports, they do grow fond of developing themselves and competing with others.

Well, both main character have talent in badminton/ tennis, yet unknown about it. In BG and BS, there's a very strong person in their group, and coach that notice their(the main character's) talent. There're also hints of romance in both series. Read it and you'll find more similarities among them ^_6
