The synopsis about 'beautiful creatures' and the stunning artwork on the cover gave me high hopes for this manga.
It's too bad I just can't seem to get into this story, even after reading it twice.
I disliked the fact that the story starts of too slow, that it became boring. With a slow story like that, it' get's hard to find a likeable character.

What I did like about this manga was the AMAZING artwork, however I'm afraid that's just not enough to make me buy the second volume.

I really like her work!So far I have read Volumes 1 and 3 of Alichino. The story was really satisfying and the art is just plain gorgeous wherein other mangas the art usually changes from the beginning to the end.And it was said in Tokyopop that there'll be a 4th Volume. I have also read Return to Labyrinth where she did the illustrations. I hope she makes more mangas in the near future!

Tengu Onmyoudou add

Alichino and Tengu Onmyoudou contain beautiful, fantasy-themed art. Both manga have detailed character designs. Tengu Onmyoudou even has the seemingly lost art of elaborate, well drawn backgrounds that truly illustrates the story's setting. Alichino's characters have a slightly odd "doll" look to them while Tengu Onmyoudou has a less "shoujo-esque" style with stronger jawlines and bulkier male bodies. Both are great examples of unique art styles.
