Both series center around high leveled esper girls. While Mikoto is one of Academy City's seven Level 5's, The Children are the only Level 7's in Japan. The Children start off as 10-year-olds but eventually become middle school students like Mikoto and friends. ZKC can be more lighthearted than Railgun, especially in the beginning, but it has its serious, dramatic moments as well. Esper cloning has also been recently introduced into ZKC's story.

Although both series follow different premises, Railgun and World Trigger share a variety of similarities as modern sci-fi/fantasy stories. The main characters from both series are helpful to those in need and possesses great skill in their abilities. Their relationship with other characters are also defined and focused over the course of both series. When conflict arises, both series adapts battles with superhuman feats. Both series also make room for comedy with ways to define their colorful cast of characters.

Just like Toaru Majutsu no Index characters with unique abilities; a ranking system based on a character's abilities and Heroin use similar ability power (Rising x Rydeen Lightning) and (Toaru Kagaku no Railgun Electro Master) and Both manga heroin is equally strong in their own story.

In both Iris Zero and Railgun, there exists powers that defies the natural law of order. Their story concentrates on characters with these powers and the roles they play. Both series adapts mystery as well relating to the many origins of their settings, powers, and characters themselves. The main female protagonist also has a past that has connections to the present story.

In times of oppression, those who have been taken advantage of are going to do what is in their power to fight back. The end result is that no matter how good your intentions are... the actions you take in your battle against the establishment can make you as bad as those who took advantage of you. While two different kinds of manga this is the central theme I find unifies Akame ga Kill! and A Certain Scientific Railgun. Like how Akame ga Kill! focuses on a renegade group getting back at a corrupt government by committing assassinations, A Certain Scientific Railgun also shows the  read more

A premise based on characters with special abilities. Yozakura Quartet and Railgun are about characters with superhuman powers beyond normalcy. There's a slice of life feeling on some cases but also story development involving our characters as revelations are unraveled. The main female character is tough and independent. She is also dedicated with her duties and loyal to her friends. And on a more technical note, both series' action features clash of super powers.

The main plot of the two mangas may not be the same, but Railgun's Sister's arc is very similar to Elfen Lied. While in Railgun clones are created, the same happens in Elfen Lied when people try to make clones that could be just like the original, capable of reproducing and giving birth to new "beings". Railgun's characters have abilities like teleport, generating electricity and Elfen Lied characters have hidden hands that can be used for killing.

Gifted individuals with special abilities. Railgun and Gakuen Alice not only has a main female protagonist who has a special ability but also by their own nature to be themselves and easily make friends with others. As such, both series explore their lives at an academy where students are trained to learn more about their skills. There is a decent amount of comedy but at the same time also more complex plot twists as the stories draws out. Among many things, the main female protagonist faces challenges like she has never before. I recommend Railgun and Gakuen Alice to anyone interested in a series that  read more

Although not entirely of the same premise, both manga series involves schools that trains their students in various abilities that are measured in terms of strengths/levels. Both the main characters from in their respective series have similar personalities. Both series has action, drama, and comedy involved. There are conflicts involved throughout both manga series that deals with the powers that the students use and adversaries that abuses them for their own reasons.

A group of friends with special powers, issues of trauma-inducing truths that are difficult to stomach and overcome, and a couple special surprise similarities that are best discovered as you read the title you're not familiar with. Railgun is the far superior series of the two; Kazumi Magica suffers a lot of blandness in terms of art and story during the first two thirds where everything is still being set up, while Railgun has stupendous art and few issues in terms of the story. That said, someone who is a true fan of the Madoka Magica franchise, if s/he is able to get through  read more

Although the mood of both manga titles feels different, both series features espers and individuals with special abilities. Both series involves a group of characters who are involved with events around the city that they reside in and often deals with dangers. Yet, they try to help others and solve such cases against others who uses esper powers for dangerous purposes. Both manga series has action, super power themes, and drama.
