SynopsisThe story takes place in an ordinary Japanese town, Fuyuki City. Hidden from society, there has been a deadly war going on in this town. Seven sorcerers known as "Masters" summon a powerful familiar called "Servants" and they all fight each other till the last one. The last one is said to attain the Holy Grail which will grant them a wish. Only a few knows when this War started and what the Holy Grail is, but the war was about to begin again this year.
The main character is Emiya Shirou, who lost his parents in a fire and was adopted by a man who called himself a sorcerer. Admiring his step father, he has been training himself to be a sorcerer. However, he had no talent and he could barely use one type of sorcery. His step father has already passed away, and today he's a sorcerer without any skills or knowledge. He is involved in the War of the Holy Grail when he accidentally summons Saber, who is said to be the strongest servant of all...

What people have to understand is, Fate/Stay Night, be it the manga or anime, is just a small part of the actual thing. It is not a generic fight anime. It's not a harem comedy. It's deep, meaningful, and changes your idea of anime, manga, and visual novels all at once. If you have ever watched the anime, or read the manga, then try and find a download for the Visual Novel. Despite an abundance of reading, it will blow your mind. Guaranteed.

I thought the anime seemed like it would be fun so before watching the anime I decided to pick up the manga. It apears to be (I've only read two volumes) a very generic fighting anime. I could not get into it at all and was very dissapointed. i thought maybe the anime would be different but while the story line was slightly different I still didnt like it.

Battles for the Holy Graal, action, and supernatural stuff going on.
Both deal with master/servant relationships.
In both the male protagonist (Shirou/Ariel) suddenly gets involved, unwillingly at first, with a strong swordwoman (Saber/Lamia) who's not exactly human.
Both also have a cute little girl (Ilya/Clarion) who's the owner of a huge scary monster (Berserker/Dores) and uses him in the fights.
They both speak about the Graal theme. Lots&lots of fightings. <3

Both involve female knights. Also, Shirou swore to become a protector of justice and Sora swore to become a knight of justice. Both manga involve a "game" of some sort, while Shirou fights in a game for the Holy Grail, Sora fights in a game called Exaclan. The only difference is that Shitsurakuen has a shoujo-ai + harem hint, although they both include shounen, action and fantasy. If you liked Fate/stay night then it is likely that you will like Shitsurakuen.
