They both start off the same: a highschool student with a mysterious illness similar to anemia leaves his adoptive family to live with his creepy older sister in the house she inherited when their father died. The protagonist can't remember much about his families tragic past but slowly starts recalling things which play a huge role in the plot. They both contain vampires and the protagonists also have to fight their urges to hurt other people. Their art styles are similar and typical for horror manga. Tsukihime is a lot more action and fantasy oriented while Lament of the Lamb doesn't have anything that couldn't plausibly occur in real life. Lament of the Lamb also has a much more consistently dark atmosphere. LotL is a lot more like the near side routes of the VN than the manga.
Both of these stories are originally from visual novels which are created by TYPE-MOON and they both have similarities, as well as taking place in the same world.

Melty Blood is the official spin-off of Tsukihime so fans of either series will be pleased to find their favorite characters in the other. Similar art, design, and structure will be well received by fans of Type-Moon's popular releases.
