Both Black Lagoon and Dogs: Bullets & Carnage (and it's prequel, Dogs) have great action sequences, cutting edge art, and a cast of interesting and colorful characters. Both have characters that make a living out of shady, if not illegal work, and awesome gunslingin' action. In between all this gritty fighting, both series have time for refreshing humor. Although Dogs: Bullets & Carnage has more of a serious, gloomy overtone, I highly recommend it for anyone who likes Black Lagoon, and visa versa. Plus, both series have creepy, eerily cute, homicidal twins. Now who can resist that?

Even though there are only a few chapters of Gangsta ist pretty similar. characters are similar. eyepatchys that smoke to much- there almost identical.

Both series are heavy on characters with dark/angsty backstories, blood and death, stylized violence, and general crazy-awesome badassery. They have a very similar feel to them.

Although the setting is an unnamed (and probably fictional) city, Dogs: Bullets & Carnage has a European atmosphere similar to Gunslinger Girl. Both titles have plenty of blades and bullets flying around but have considerable amounts of drama and character development give the readers a balanced diet of style AND substance.

Similar art and a few similar character designs, as well as both including mafia and syndicates, and minimalist backgrounds.

Hitogatana and DOGS give a similiar feeling and the drawings are quite similiar too; Their stroy is a little diffrent, but both contain a lot of fighting, characters with sad and twisted pasts, experiments on humans, people who aren't exactly human beings and a lot of action. DOGS has more blood and is darker though, while hitogatana is a little calmer.

Dogs: Bullets & Carnage and Until Death Do Us Part features some unusual elements that includes sci-fi and experimentation. There is a colorful cast of characters in both series and we learn much more about them. The first few chapters of both series also involves a special sword that sets up the course of the story. Both series contains a good amount of action as well as some mature content as we learn the dark realities in their world.

The premise might be different but their style is similar. Characters involved in their perspective stories have violent pasts that made them whom they are in the present. Yet, they seek to live their new life with goals to fulfill. There is a lot of action present in both series, mostly involving with firearms. The characters are exceptionally skilled at using such firearms during missions/tasks that they do on a daily basis. Expect violence, revenge, and secrets that unfold as their stories ties in together characters collectively to formulate something to talk about.

Both are manga dealing with the criminal underground (literally in dogs ^_-) and gangs. Both feature very kinetic, action packed art, and cool looking character designs. Dogs is a lot more fleshed out and anyone who thought BUSTA! Had a good concept should check it out. Vice versa, If you're already a Dogs fan and looking for a little time waster, BUSTA! is probably a good choice for you.

Both mangas deal with illegal genetic experiments on human beings and are set in cities characterized by corruption and violence. Also, two of the main characters are similar for some aspects: Haine and Fon are both cold guys, both have a similar dramatic past and both would like to take down an organization which deal with genetic experiment. Moreover, both mangas are pretty dark and dramatic.

Known for their violence and aggressive nature, both series' main protagonist gets involved in complicated affairs with the underworld society. There is plenty of mature content in both series as they take on gangs, mafia, and powerful political figures.

Both series takes place in an urban setting where there is illegal activity, underground conspiracies, and crime. There is concept of murders, mystery, and power struggle between various factions in both series. Their storytelling has both a light and dark tone. Bungou Stray Dogs is also known for some of its supernatural concepts while Dogs: Bullets & Carnage deals with guns and crime. One of the main protagonist from Dogs: Bullets & Carnage and Bungou Stray Dogs are also orphans.

While the plots aren't very similar they both have a lot of psychological themes and probably shouldn't be read by somebody who is faint of heart. Sidooh is about two brothers struggling to survive and become samurai while DBC is about four people who's lives are somehow interconnecting with the same underground organization

Ok so Zombie Powder was never completed but it's still an amazing manga. Dogs has a distinct coolness to it which I think you'll see in the characters of Zombie Powder as well. Zombie Powder's gang like Haine and friends have a mysterious past filled with violence, loss and who knows what else. I think both are character pieces so if you like one than the other shouldn't be that far a stretch, besides, both have great fight scenes. :) By the way Zombie Powder was created by Tite Kubo before he made Bleach, just thought you ought to know ;)

Even though Raiders in a manwha and Dogs is a manga, they have a very similar art style.
Both are action-focused, have lots of fights, and psychotic characters.
Also, both are set in Europe (Raiders in London, to be precise).

Both have very well developed characters with deep personalities (Kanda's attitude toward others being similar to Haine's and Badou's relationship), both have great fights and a plot full of sadness and despair.
reportRecommended by Rimona
Both have similar "new type of world" feeling, and both have a strong female lead, where they know how to fight and defend themselves.

It's hard to explain the similarities without giving away the ending of Cristo, both series have genetic engineering/supersoldier angle, on top of the flashy fighting and impressive gunplay.
reportRecommended by lithiumflower
they are both about human-genetic-experimentation-stuff...

In the chaos of futuristic cities you'll finds all kinds of gangs, armies and an overabundance of violence & crime. secret organization experimenting on children and government dogs lurk in every corner. Akira & Dogs are two of the best Science Fiction manga series you can possibly read!

Both manga are dark stories featuring lots of violence and murder, but both manga feature dashes of comedy.

I picked up Dogs Bullets and Carnage to replace the hole Togainu no Chi left when Tokyo Pop shut down. It was exactly what I needed. Lots of action going on, loveable characters, engaging plot. And of course plenty of mystery surrounding the main character and his strange abilities. Both are set in a sort of post-apocalyptic setting, include run down cities, mysterious organizations, human modifications. The main characters carry some similarities, but unlike Akira, Heine has a bit of a beserker button, which is something I love. xD
