They both are written by the same author, so the humor and drawings are similar. Both aren't your typical shoujo stories either; they are both unique. Tokyo Crazy Paradise has a whole lot more fighting scenes than Skip Beat where there's kicks and little devil spirits. But in both, the main character undergoes amazing transformations which make you want to see more.
They're both by the same author... and the art is pretty similar... but the stories are completely different ^_^... TCP is more actiony and yakuza-y and Skip Beat is more drama-y =3

Both are series about serious method actor girls. The rest of the cast draws parrells to. Kyoko=Maya, Ren=Masumi (and other characters *giggle*) Kanae sort of = Ayumi and Yahiro=Mizuki. There are many diffence in the plot (mainly cocerning the main characters motive for acting, but both series have humor, drama, bitchy actresses jealous of the main characters, and awesome romance scenes.
Glass Mask and Skip Beat both focus on a young girl determined to make it big in the world of acting. However, while this connects both mangas, the difference between Kyoko and Maya's characters is vast. The dark, serious, and often times immature Kyoko provide much comic relief to the Skip Beat series whereas the creative, "genius" actress that sometimes lacks confidence allows readers of Glass Mask to wonder if she has what it takes to get the role of the legendary "Crimson Goddess". Despite the differences between the two characters, readers of one series will definitely be able to enjoy the other. Enter the world of comedy, mystery and subtle romance with Skip Beat and Glass Mask's portrayal of what the world of acting is like, the seriousness of an actor's role and what it takes to make it in the entertainment industry.

Apr 21, 2008? chapters 13 of 20 people found this review helpful Story: Well i thought this was a well thought out and very good original story line.
I loved the humor and the situations the main characters get into.
Art: One word: Superb!!
It's good and detailed when it needs to be and in witty places i nearly wet myself laughing!
I find the art in a manga a major point if i am to like it and i found it very acceptable to my
standards. The facial expressions of the characters are very good.
...
character: well i'm only at chap 15 but i find the characters are already developing very nicely..
but the author doesn't land you with too much info at one but leaves the mystery background for the reader to understand as the story goes on.... creating a very nice building up effect.
Enjoyment: It is funny gets more and more romantic...it is dramatic dealing with life situations and it is a brilliant shoujo what more do you want?! XD it rocks i really enjoy every chapter craving to know more and laugh A LOT more!
lol
I give it a full 10! read more

May 15, 2008122 of ? chapters read 8 of 15 people found this review helpful This is an awesome story!!! I really liked how much comedy is included in it and how it doesn't focus on the romance part ALL THE TIME. Overall, I like most Kyoko and it's hard not to like her little demons and the way she reacts to everything. It's also nice to see how Ren's feelings develop as the story goes along and wonderfully naive she stays throughout the whole time.
The way Kyoko progresses during the plot and the magnificent way that the whole thing is drawn and what they... say makes this manga on my top 5 list and I can't wait till the next chapter comes out. ^.^ read more

Sep 16, 2008128 of ? chapters read 2 of 10 people found this review helpful The manga itself is really fun to read. I'm normally not one to read something like this, but I couldn't stop reading until I'd read every chapter out, and now I fervently await the next one >.<
The storyline is very original, making the enjoyment of reading it heighten! The art is great, and the characters are so diverse that it adds to the story and enjoyment. The manga is something just about anyone can enjoy. Hopefully the anime will be good too, so far, I like the Japan...ese voice actors. read more
