A replica of One Piece? Seems like it
Worth reading? Yes
Fairy Tail undertakes another fantasy setting. I have always been skeptic of fantasy anime's as most of them is always obscure, and prone to be uninteresting as the story progresses. But that mistake isnt repeated here in Fairy Tail as Hiro Mashima performs excellent on making his own fantasy world out of thin air.
In this manga, all sorts of mages roam about the world. Some of them even bond together and form a guild that takes requests from people in exchange for money, there are even such guilds that are "dark", who are not among the law-abiding. Fairy Tail is among the hundred of guilds out there. But unlike the general they, to quote their master" do what you think is right". Yes, they do what they believe they should be doing, all for the sake of just finishing a job. Whether its wrecking a house to turning a whole town into a scrapyard, it doesnt matter for them, as long as they get the job done.
Fairy Tail tells the story of Dragonil Natsu, a Fire Mage who was raised by an ancient fire-breathing dragon. and his newfound friend Lucy, a Spirit Mage who's pretty much new on the world of guilds. Together they and the rest of the members of the Fairy Tail guild goes through all sorts of adventures.
At first glance, it may sound lame because of how it follows the monster-of-the-week formula. And yes it does. But dont let that stop you from reading this. Sure it is pretty much follows a shounen formula. But to my surprise, the plot twists were variable. I am constantly impressed on how detailed the arcs were. They start out as something terribly cliche then suddenly turn out to something unexpected. Furthermore, each character is connected to each other and each of their past is no exception either. I love how every character is significant to further progress the story.
The art during action scenes is very impressive. It is comprehensive. You can understand what is happening to the characters and around them. At some climactic parts, I even got around to get my Ipod to listen to some One Piece Soundtrack while I was reading. Surprisingly, the music pays off. It gave a better atmosphere and it invigorated me. Another plus is it doesnt fill the panels with unnecessary captions. But it never forgets to show the reaction of each character in the scene. And most of those reactions are just plain humorous. And each character design is likable, as every male boasts their six-packs and every female shows their cleavage.
Fairy Tail will not fail to deliver its action packed, slapstick comedy to its readers.
If that sounds good to you then dont you even dare to miss out on Fairy Tail. read more

I first started Fairy Tail because all my friends were like: "You love One Piece, you'll LOVE this!" I thought it would be a rip-off of my favorite series and went into it with very low expectations. However, only a few chapters in, my attitude changed significantly!
This series is reasonably new so the story is only just started, however what there is so far is great! A lot is still open and YET TO HAPPEN and I find myself excited to find out what happens next. The jokes are original and don't get stale and the overall tone of the series is a very fun one.
Each character you come into contact with is unique and interesting. Most of them have a quirk that will have you laughing. There's the chronic-stripper Gray and the motion-sickness prone Natsu. Not to forget Elfman who practically walks around spouting Chuck Norris quotes. This series has strong female characters and wonderful male characters! And let's not forget the token animal characters.
I love the art style. It's clean and the characters have very distinct facial expressions. At first glance, it looks like a One Piece rip-off. While the styles are very similar, you will be soon to realize that the art styles are very different!
The tone of this series is light-hearted and hilarious. Like all series, it has its serious moments that are very well done. I'd sit here and tell you all about the series but I think you should see for yourself! It's worth giving a shot! read more

The art in both mangas is very much alike. Also, there's always a going-on talk about 'Nakama'. The two main characters resemble each other (not to mention they're very random XD). In short, you will find many situations in Fairy Tail where you'll think "Omg this is just like One Piece!" ^____^
Both have a similar character art style and talk big about friendship or "nakama." And both main leads are general idiots most of the time, both are great.
I first read Fairy Tale before I took the plunge into One Piece because I wasn't impressed with the artwork. Fairy Tale is extremely similar in style and kind of plowed the way to enjoy One Piece, which Fairy Tale is like by the same theme of nakuma being everything and following your dreams.
Similarities between these two shounen serialisations include: characters with unique abilitites which they oftentimes use for combat; the emphasis placed on comradery; and a vast world for exploration. Moreover, both share very similar art and narrative styles.
The characters, and art are very similar, and both focus on action and adventure.
They are drawn the same way. There is a strong emphasis on friendship, the characters are enjoyable, and there is alot of humor. The fights are great and they do not drag on. all and all an enjoyable series that you should check out if you like shouen.
Art styles are similar, overall objectives of the main characters are slightly different. But their personalities are almost identical. With Fariy Tail its a mage guild working together, where as in One Piece its a pirate crew working together.
they both share similar themes of friendship and bonds. the also the art work is pretty similar as well.
Same Kind of Drawing - Same kind of main Character - Different Mangaka.
A pretty common recc.
But it's true, although the story line is a bit different, almost every character in both series share a resemblence with each other, not only that, there are fights which can me compared with each other, and several scenes almost look the same. The art style does look a lot the same too, after Mashima's earlier work, Rave Master, his art style got more devoted (and improved) towards Oda's style/work.
Very similar in art, humor, plot and everything goes around "nakama"
The art work is similar as well as the humor, bonds between characters and fighting. ^^ I'm sure that if you enjoy Fairy Tail you'll enjoy One Piece and vice versa.
the relationship between the characters, the humor, the unique world and the depth of the world and the characters.
Both series have similar art styles and similar senses of humor.
Both have a lot of action and fun, however the action in One Piece is more engaging than Fairy Tail.
One Piece carries a lot of human emotion as well, something Fairy Tail has yet to do.
Both have their own world (pirates and mages)and drawn about the same. Both have crazy power and action and both are looking for something. Both are pretty popular. They are both great reads.
For those of you who are fans of One Piece, I highly recommend reading Fairy Tail. The author of Fairy Tail used to be an assitant to Oda(Author of One Piece) thus they share many characteristics, especially artwork. Both series have great fights with equally great character designs. All the great fundamentals of an epic Manga like One Piece, with a different plot and set-up, are all the ingredients you need for a good read!
It's simmilar humor, so if you think One Piece is funny you will think that Fairy Tail is too. The main characters in these two mangas are alot alike, they are both rash, violent, loud and not so smart. This makes the manga very funny.
Similar lead characters and art but there's magic in Fairy Tail while there's pirates in One Piece :D
ther both about a group of nakama trying to futhfil ther dreen _the drawing looks aloke too!! becus the auther of fairy tail used to work with the outher of one piece ther bouth great full of adventure and comedy
Like in One piece, Natsu is a very powerful guy and very funny.
Either in One Piece and Fairy Tail, there are some guys (and Luffy and Natsu too) who have powers very cool.
If you like One piece, you surely love Fairy Tail.
These too go hand in hand, they even look the same. All to do with Nakama and all equally hilarious. One Piece is a bit better in terms of plot, but Fairy Tail have more badass characters
When I read Fairy Tail it seems to make me think of one piece. They are both similar in some way or another. Main character never gives up on his nakama and doesn't realize when to quit... you know.
both manga's have plots that have the main characters going on different adventures while aiming for a singular goal.
they both have similar themes of friendship and very simillar art work
The most similar mangas ever. The artwork is so alike, they have the same kind of epic battles, the main characters have the same attitudes and they will defend their bonds above any other thing.
similarities between the two
-fighting-shounen
-similar art
-the characters are alike
Fairy Tail is One Piece with magic, bigger breasts, more fan service, and also not quite as good.
It's got an awesome main character somewhat similar to luffy. It has a unique story arcs that will surely entertain you. It's very entertaining and will most likely keep you guessing. It can be random and odd at times (which is what keeps you guessing), but it has decent and relatable humor. The characters are all just as unique and interesting. It's a very creative and original anime that won't fail your expectations. It can be emotional and intense but that's what makes it so interesting.
This is one of the top manga out there for a good reason. don't be hesitant to go and check it out, you may even like it a lot more than you thought at first.
Both have really similar art styles for one. The initial main characters are really similar in personality and appearance. They also both have a lot of adventure and are about standing up for ones friends. The biggest difference is that one is about mages and one is about pirates.

same author and i think the story seems better so far.
Made by the same author, and both mangas have the character Plue in it.
Both have the same author, and the artwork at the end is almost same as that in Fairy Tail.
Great story with tons of lovable characters!
they are both by the same artist Hiro Mashima
same author, same manga style, and packed with action.
The same artist, almost the same art. Both stories take place in the same world. Some characters (like the little dog-something plue and Heart Kurz the fashion designer) appear in both mangas. Actually I prefer Fairy Tail but Rave Master ain't so bad. I just got bored because there are so many chapters (almost 300).
saem author, similar characters and lots of other similar things.
Groove Adventure Rave (AKA Rave Master) is the series that Hiro Mashima wrote before Fairy Tail. Currently slightly longer than Fairy Tail, G.A.R looks less like One Piece, has a shorter anime adaptation, but still shares many themes with Fairy Tail, most prominently the strong willed main character.
both of them were made by the same person. both of them have a good story about adventure, friendship and love.
Both manga series are drawn by the same mangaka. They are both action/adventure/comedy. While fairy tail has more silliness and ecchi element, rave master has more romance and coherent plotline.
Both mangas are made by the same person, some of the characters have similar appearances and personality
The one who drew both is Mashima Hiro! :D :D
Both story focus on fantasy adventure shounen. The main characters are whom you can call stupid, strong, and caring for his nakama. The female leads both have mystery surrounding their past, and unique last names!
So, They're really Similar indeed. Mostly by the fact that it's made by the same author, hehe (Hiro Mashima).
The Characters are very similar, I recognize some character from Fairy Tail in Rave* Vise-Versa, Althought not being the same. They still keep they're similarities. It is highly enjoyable if you liked any of them.
The stories are different for sure, otherwise it wouldn't be enjoyable.
But if you watched one of the both and you're looking for more. Then you should certainly watch the other one.
Thank you.
