W-Juliet is one of the best mangas out there, it has awesome characters that are easy to like and understand....but the best part of this manga series is the plot which is basically boy meets girl but under weird circumstances; where the main girl character looks like a guy and acts like one and the main guy character is under cover as a girl in order to impress his father so he can take up a career in acting. The story is amazing and nicely told and not only does the manga focus on romance it also nicely blends comedy into it along with other read more

I really liked this manga! You see all kind of different charcters. The writer did a good job making me waiting for the very end... I couldn't rest until I finished it!
The stories are intersting and surprising. If you love this kind of genre don't miss it!

W-Juliet is one of the most heartfelt, outstanding and underrated mangas I have ever come across.
The story sounds like a stereotypical highschool-romance with gender bender tendencies which leads us to the assumption that the tomboyish girl will fall in love with the beautiful and popular boy, but thats not the case, at least not for most of the story.
The main part of the manga revolves around the theater club which Makoto and Ito are members of, and its basically said pretty nice to see that Emura created worlds within a fictional world. You can see that for example Swan Lake, got a total read more

I'll be honest. I'm picky on art. I usually hate the stories where the male has to pretend to be a girl in a school since the outcomes are bad (in my opinion) but I happened to loved this one. Makoto's attitude with Ito is rather different compared to other mangas with the plotline and there is pretty good progress between Ito and Makoto. There's no cliche obstacles for them to overcome in order to build character. It's a really good classic to read and/or reread. Not to mention that there's a sequel continuing off to build their relationship even more.

Manga: Tenshi Ja Nai!!
Both W-Juliet and Tenshi ja Nai have main guy characters that are dressing as girls for one reason or another. Also, the main girl characters do not act overly feminine... so of course they start to fall in love with each other! Anyway, both these manga are funny and cute, and great gender bender stories. If you liked one, definitely check out the other.

Manga: Penguin Kakumei
both shoujo, both has alot of cross dressing (guys/girls who dress like the other sex), in both of them the guy dress like a girl because he wants to be an actor, in both of them the girl finds out that the guy is a guy and help him, in both of them there're fighting ad both of them are soooo cute!!!

Manga: Venus Capriccio
The main characters Takami (Venus Capriccio) and Ito (W-Juliet) are both tomboyish and more 'feminine' guys fall in love with them. Both are about performing arts (music and acting) and although the storyline is quite different, I think that they are both enjoyable to read!

Manga: Otomen
If you like a guy who is girlish and a girl who is manly, these are for you. (Granted, in W Juliet, the girlishness is forced.) Both have a sweet, romantic, shojo feel, and are about the bonds between these (almost, and really) gender bending people.

Manga: The One
If you enjoy The One, I recommend W Juliet and W Juliet II. It is about a couple who want to go into acting and their challenges in getting into the career. Readers of The One who like very handsome men who can look feminine will love Makoto, the male mc of the series and if you like Lele you will enjoy the strong heroine Ito who is one of my favorite manga heroines because she is tough yet sweet and works hard for her success. W Juliet covers them on their way toward their career and W  read more
