In the mid-1990's Yokohama yakuza scene, "W·A," or "Wild Adapter," is hot. It's a dangerous drug that amps its users up into a superhuman state, and then their organs explode, effectively killing them. The corpses left behind are transformed into an animalistic state, i.e. fur and claws. Two powerful yakuza groups, the Izumokai and the Toujougumi, are fighting for control over W·A, and the police continue a baffled investigation over the gory remains of W·A users.

A very enjoyable series to read.
Wild Adapter's fast-pacing and plot development make it one of the most enjoyable stories to follow; the way that the story and characters develop, and the timing of themes like humor make the story stand out, and the characters become very real and likable. Even while covering the relationships of the characters as a BL the romance doesn't over power the plot. It's a great mix of drama, action, romance, and comedy,

The art is also very good, having a well developed and believiable style.

I really enjoyed it for it's story as well as the characters and art.
