First of all, this review may contain spoilers (as this is a One Shot it's quite difficult not to spoil anything), so please read at your own risk. That is all.

This is a really touching story of a girl with a rough past. This girl's name is Yukishiro or for short, Yuu. As both her parents abandoned her when she was young, she put a lock on her heart, so that she would never love someone again. Now, her grandfather is taking care of her. Beside his son and his son's wife, he truly loves Yuu from the bottom of his heart and wishes for ... nothing more than for Yuu to open her heart again and embrace the world once more.

Then, there is this girl called Ayumu, who seems to have taken an interest in Yuu. She claims the reason for following Yuu is because she "likes her". At the end of the story, it is revealed that this affection is of a romantic posture and not just a friendly one.

I feel kind of sad for Ayumu, because of the fact that Yuu misunderstood her feelings towards her. This sentence proves that and I quote (I love quoting things, it's a real hobby of mine ;) ): "Umm... please be my friend!!". And Ayumu's response to this proves that she has romantic feelings for Yuu: "Well... I guess that makes sense...".

Beautiful story this was, just stunningly beautiful. Cute, too (hehe). The characters really came to life in this little One Shot and were very realistic. Big props to the mangaka, Yaya Hanatsu. She clearly showed her brilliant writing abilities.

Anyway, this work... a true masterpiece. A real classic.

And now, one last word to our cute girl, Yuu-san. "Don't you dare ever let darkness envelop your heart again. Just keep smiling and be happy, together with Ayumu-san. Otherwise... you'll be no different from the pieces of shit who walked out on you."

The one-shot “.traeH” is a messy cliche. There is no conclusive ending for this particular one-shot, and instead the reader is expected to drag up the sequel one-shot called “Past Heaven” to hopefully have some resolution. Is digging up the one-shot even worth picking up with how messy the first ended up such a mess? Even the art work really doesn't make up for the poorly constructed plot and two dimensional characterization which ends up grating on ones nerves.

Ayumu's behavior is honestly creepy. I'm not talking about how she's interested in girls, but how she comes across as a creepy stalker. On the positive side ... we at least see Yuu not being stereotyped as a creepy emo stalker in regards to Ayumu, but stalking behavior is stalking behavior and in no way is it romantic. If Ayumu's behavior simply stuck to glomping Yuu things might not be a problem, but she eventually starts following her despite not being very welcomed as if she were a complete ditz. For her voice I kept imagining a really squeaky sweet voice dripping with gross optimism. I also felt her design was a badly rendered version of another artists character.

Yuu on the other hand takes the act of pessimism to the extreme. She has some kind of social disorder, but the one-shot never goes into any depth beyond having her whine about how her father abandoned her and then her mother and thus she doesn't even try making friends. Social disorders aren't that simple, and in reality her attitude seems off with her having a loving grandfather. Her character design is flat as if the writer didn't use an actual reference.

My enjoyment for this particular piece was low. There were to many things making me bang my head on this one.

What a mess, here we go:

Story: 2/10
I will keep this short because most of the story's problems lie with their characters: What a cliche and underdeveloped story. Poor girl got abused in her childhood and is now shy, oh, here is a random popular girl that likes her for no reason. People are much deeper than that.

Art: 5/10
You know its gonna be good when the manga's only redeeming quality is mediocre art

Character: 1/10
I have never seen such shallow characters in my life, a girl that is shy for no reason and a girl that loves the shy girl for NO REASON. Not because she's ... cute, not because there was an event that made her fall in love, but JUST BECAUSE. That is literally the explanation the manga itself gave "just because".

Overall (3/10) and conclusion:
This was to annoying to read, thank god it is very short. Don't read this if you trust me.
