Synopsis

A lonely yet caring 15-year-old Chiaki, the half-angel daughter of the Archangel Michael and a human woman, welcomes into her home a dejected devil Ororon who pledges to stay at her side forever.

Both of them have been ostracized from their respective celestial realms--Chiaki because her origins are impure and Ororon because he is the youngest son of the Lord Devil and therefore a threat to his older brothers for leadership of the underworld.
As various agents of heaven come by to destroy the angel Chiaki, she learns that having the incredibly powerful Ororon by her side is useful. And as assassin after assassin comes to eliminate Ororon, he learns that Chiaki can teach him a valuable lesson about the sanctity of life. (Source: Tokyopop)

I've read the manga so many times and I never gotten tired of it. To some people it look dark and depressing but its not your average crying-sad manga. The style of drawing is unique and different. Plus it not your usual happy ever after. When I finish the manga, I feel like there should be more to it. As if the author left us hanging for more. Yes, I was a bit taken back because it ended the way I thought differently. What pulled me was how their relationship make a impact on each of their life and the artwork. Frankly there's isn't read more

i love this manga, i really do, its incredibly depressing but wierdly somehow uplifting, not many people know mizukis work which is a real shame.
Of course it is all personal opinion and many wont like the hyper-violent and very particular art style but personally i love to copy the art, the lines flow so beautifully and she can tell so much with so few strokes that sometimes it can be a little hard to understand but we can forgive her that, it is a tragedy, and i felt very moving though inevitable and easy to predict
I introduced this at school and every single read more

The stories are complete different, but both are fantasy-like, with romance that's not suffocatingly-sweet and they both have their unique feel and use new ideas, it's not just another rewrite of the same love story, over and over again.

Both plots are based on supernatural worlds emphasising on bonds, fate, and the strive for change. Watanuki and Chiaki are very similar. Both have overcome domestic hardships, are gifted/cursed with powers, and wear their heart on their sleeve.
