Shitsuji-sama no Okiniiri (Manga)

Shitsuji-sama no Okinari tells a simple romantic story of a former commoner Ryou and her exclusive butler Hakuou who happens to be a cool, good-looking popular guy at their high school. The story focuses on Ryou and her honest, pure-natured personality, who treats people with respect and equality- she seems unfazed by becoming a rich person and has no qualms of being the stereotyped mean snobbish person. This quality of hers of being herself is what leads Hakuou to fall for Ryou- Ryou however seems very unfamiliar to Hakuou's feeling- although we get indications that she is beginning to like him more than a friend.

The artwork is pretty good and the two supporting roles of Hakuou's friends provide a good round of humour. Overall the manga is an enjoyable, romantic read. If one is looking for a soap-opera type over-the-top story line then this manga isn't for you.

Shitsuji-sama no Okiniiri is about a girl named Himura Ryou who enrolls in a rich, elite school in order to fulfill her roll as a daughter. However, before now, she was a commoner and doesn't know how to act in the high L class society! On her first day at her new school, she meets Kanzawa Hakuou extraordinaire, the king of B Class. Becoming fast friends, a romance story unfolds as Ryou and Hakuou work towards their goals.

This manga was an enjoyable break from a stressful life or a serious manga. It provides a fun atmosphere, comedic relief and an interesting plot. The artwork is very beautiful, I especially love the facial expressions. All the characters have interesting quirks that is consistent throughout the chapters. If you are looking for a manga to read for relaxation, a laugh, and maybe a bit of doki doki, this manga is perfect! read more
