Both are classic styled detective mysteries, featuring teens.
They are similar for some pretty obvious reasons. Both of them are Detective-Themed mangas that have to do with solving murder mysteries and they are both very good.
Both contain great and tricky detective mysteries.

Both titles feature the same artist and are about teen solving mysteries. Though Tantei Gakuen Q features a group working together to solve cases, Kindaichi really only has one person solving the mysteries.
