PROS:
I think this is the best of the 'zombie' mangas out there. The zombies evolve in really cool ways and there is more plot than just survive from one new area to the next one with no new information. There are some boring zombie cliches but also unique twists to this story. There some some strong bonds like a father/child and a huge bromance. The artwork is amazing but gory.

CONS:
The story feels really incomplete. There are no answers to several very important questions. There was a final boss fight but I still felt like the story could have continued.

Apocalypse no Toride is what "Highschool of The Dead" was supposed to be. It's scary, intense, bloody, and gruesome.

Story: 3
The story is a bit bland. The main character gets sent to prison for a crime he didn't commit and gets stuck with assholes, murderers, delinquents, and psychopaths. Then- zombies attack. That pretty much sums up the whole plot. Zombies attack and the four main characters have to survive. Yep.

Art: 9
The art is glorious, the monsters are hideous, and no fan service in this manga. You don't see monster boobs flying everywhere all over the page. No, the art actually makes you ... focus on the zombies, not the boobs.

Characters: 6
The four main characters have simple personalities. There is the weak ass pussy main character, there is the strong badass, a half-sadistic but not completely sadistic guy, and the smart guy of the group. Then all the rest are douches. This story really has no character development and that's a shame considering a zombie apocalypse is a life-changing experience. Oh yeah, and all the zombies in this manga are fucking OP as shit. They can block, dodge, and shit- they're hella fucking strong.

Oh yeah, and when I said there's no monster boobs everywhere, there's actually like, no boobs at all. All the characters are male. I hope none of them become gay and start raping each other in the prison during the zombie apocalypse.

This manga feels empty but it's still fun. I like seeing brains, lower-jaws, eyeballs, limbs, heads, and torsos flying everywhere. I like seeing people act like douches and tough nuts then scream in complete fear, hopelessness, and misery when the zombies eat the fuck out of them. I'm still a bit dissapointed in the fact that many of the characters got guns because that's fucking stupid- in a real zombie apocalypse, majority of people ain't gonna have a whole fucking chamber of guns, but whatever. I prefer to see them be resourceful and use whatever is around them but meh, screw it. Zombies don't even exist.

Fun to read, but you have to turn off your mind first. This mangas full of "fuck you, we gon' do whatevz the fuck we wanna do, we ain't gon' even care about logic or plot or character development. Fuck me, fuck you, fuck everything".

While starting to read this manga, I was blown away. It was fresh, unique. Not the zombie genre, but its take on it. It was edgy, but it wasn't trying to. Everything about it was my cup of tea. It was obvious that the author was planning this as a semi-long series. Unfortunately, it was axed since it wasn't that popular. Making the ending abrupt and not fully conclusive. If it wasn't for that, I probably would have given this a 9 or maybe even a 10.

TL;DR Manga was amazing at first but ending was shit since it was cut short.

Apocalypse no Toride is an amazing manga, and is certainly the best of the genre.
This already fully describes this perfect manga, which quenched my desire for a perfect seinen about Zombies, in my search i came to read good titles, like paused Highschool Of the Dead and Zombie Hunter, but still was not satisfied with something that was really a manga with the essence of something that passes the terror that was innovative and without cliches until i came across in Apocalypse no Toride.
The story is set in a juvenile reformatory and our protagonist is sent there after being falsely accused of an assassination, he ... faces there soon after his arrival with the invasion of zombies.
The manga is so perfectly with a beautiful art every scene is really beautiful.
If they want to take a given because it is very good!

Apocalypse no Toride is probably the best manga that I have read up till this point, which admittedly isn't that much, as I just started getting into manga about a month ago. Still, my inexperience with the medium aside, I have read enough stories to know that this one is very special. I honestly assumed that I wouldn't like it because the zombie premise is really old in my opinion, but the virus is possibly the most creative and interesting zombie virus that I have seen and the zombies behave in very interesting ways. The characters are also great, and they have very clear motivations. ... Trust me when I say that after you learn their backstories to the extent that they are at in the manga currently then you will come to appreciate them as well. One word of advice before reading this is that you definitely should consider how easily disturbed you are by images. This is because as the manga progresses, it gets more disturbing as far as the imagery is concerned. If that isn't a problem for you though, you should certainly read this manga, I'm sure that you'll come to love it as much as I have.

I haven't read many manga but this one is certainly one of the best.
It is very enjoyable and suspenseful.

The story seems simple, A boy gets sent to prison for a crime he didn't commit and a zombie attack hits the prison and he has to survive as well with the other inmates. What I liked about the story was that the zombies had different species and looked different than your average zombie to make it more interesting. It was very suspenseful and at times you don't know what's going to happen.

The art was great. The zombies were really gory and realistic looking which ... I liked and the character designs were nice as well.

You've got your average characters that you see in other manga/anime. The pussy, the badass,the smart one, and cocky guy. The thing I liked about the characters was that it showed their personalities and their past to know them better. Even some of the supporting characters had some development. But overall the characters were decent but not the best.

Their may be some flaws of this manga but I really enjoyed it and that is all that matters. I really recommend it to people who like the horror/psychological genre. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I was browsing through MAL looking for some work to entertain, and I ended up finding Apocalypse no Toride, an incredible manga! His proposal seems boring at first, but in fact it surprises with time. The type of manga that becomes incredible as it reaches the end. Anyway, let's go to the review.

1 - Story [10/10] - I already say that few managed to make me give 10 in story. When I started reading AT (Apocalypse no Toride), I felt stuck in a slow plot that would get nowhere, but that was a huge mistake of mine. The story follows the struggle of three young ... people who went wrong in life and an innocent young man who only fights for his life bravely in the complete chaos that Japan becomes. As time goes by, they become stronger as people and strengthen the incredible friendship that is born between the 4. This manga is incredible indeed, and it is even touching to pull tears at certain times. I thank the author for this love life story!

2 - Art [9/10] - This author gets to be impressive with his art, this 9 symbolizes the fact that he has remained much above average in his features. But, if he had something unique in his art, he would certainly have won a 10, in fact it does not occur for this manga, a masterpiece nonetheless.

3 - Character [10/10] - Yoshioka! I love you! The characters in this manga are the strong point of the plot, I simply have nothing to complain about, and although it seems contradictory, I liked the protagonist's slightly erased style (something I criticize a lot in other works), this style matched the author's idea , which ended up turning the plot into something incredible! Look, surprising indeed.

4 - Enjoyment [9/10] - This manga knew how to really excite me, reading each chapter became exciting the closer it was to the end, AT is fun, violent, funny and crazy at the same time. The action is very good and passionate, the sad moments are sad and touching. The comedy is good and unpredictable. Despite all this, some dialogues were a little tiring and boring, the only negative point (Although I really like to read).

Overall - This manga really touched me, very exciting and fun to read, I will keep this relic in my mind, and of course ... read on! This manga is out of the ordinary, and will probably make you sad when you finish reading. As if you want more, read AT!

It's a good manga. It's really nothing ground breaking, but it is so d*mn enjoyable to binge-read.

The story is simple enough. Except for the science stuffs that is pretty complicated.
My only problem with the story is the vast amount of plot conveniences that could break the readers' emersion. Other than that, there isn't really any problems except for nitpicks and bunch of questions that the story wasn't able to answer.

The characters are good enough. They are handled quite well even though the side characters are literally just there to fill up the number of survivors. Also, why was the survivor numbers needed anyways? The guards ... were completely forgotten lmao

The art is pretty good. It does it job very well to show the severe situation of the characters. Nothing bad to say here.

Overall, it's a really good zombie-apocalypse manga.

I've caught up to the manga (I think I'm on volume six if chapter 26 was the last of volume five) and I've got to say it definitely has my attention. It's pretty gory, and unlike HOTD (sorry to compare but I will) I think I prefer Fort of Apocalypse. HOTD is almost what I want: zombies and action, a great plot would be nice too, but what seriously killed it is the ecchi. This has virtually nothing perverted except when they introduce the one female character and she has a big chest, but no fan service YET.

Story: 8

It's annoying when people bash on ... a good manga or anime for having an unoriginal story. Yes it is somewhat generic but is that bad? If something has a good plot why would we throw away the whole thing just to find something different? This has high school delinquents, survivors fighting amongst themselves, and the hordes of the undead, its been used before, so what? Does that make it any less good? The plot thickens as Fort of Apocalypse goes on hinting at what caused it.

Art: 8

I really like the art. I don't know what about it is good but it just rings so well with everything else. It's nice and gory, the zombies look nice and zombified, hell they look even worse than zombies from Resident Evil or Dawn of the Dead. It really shows that the virus isn't your typical 'only brings them back to like', sometimes they look severely mutated.

Character: 7

Again people bash on typical and generalized characters. You've got the wuss, the badass, the ladies man of sorts (silver tongue and whatnot) and the nerd. You've gotta remember that they're in a detention center, they were sent there for a reason and they know what they did. The only thing I don't like is the wuss, especially when he practically kills himself time and again trying to do something foolish. Character development is pretty good, I dunno a lot in that field, but they do change and grow closer to one another, more importantly the wuss actually mans up at some point.

Enjoyment: 9

Usually I don't read manga on my computer because I can do it any time, but I've been looking forward to reading this all day while I was at work. It's definitely worth a read if you have the time.

I like everything about Apocalypse no Toride. I don't love it like I love Steins;Gate or Psyren but I say its in my top ten or twenty. I mostly care about story, and this story has me hooked.

Apocalypse no Toride is one of the best mangas/comics I've read so far in my life.

Story: It's mostly about zombies and teenagers trying to survive in a new kind of zombie apocalypse. It's not your average zombie apocalypse story, I tell you what. I won't go into details but you'd just have to read it to the end to get what I'm talking about. It made me laugh, cry, mesmerized, petrified, shocked and had me on the edge of my seat while reading.

Art: Yep. It's got gore, zombie biting, action packed scenes. I'd say the art fits the story just fine. It might not be ... one of those generic super popular anime these days with all those jazz and sparkles in the characters but I like it for what it is.

Character: Oh man. Do not even get me started with the characters. They all have their flaws, background story, and development. My favorite was Yamanoi Mitsuru and always will be. Of course, the other characters aren't something to belittle either. They all got something you'd love (or hate) about them that you just can't forget them easily. Overall, I love the characters.

Enjoyment: 10 outta 10! Enjoyed it from start to finish. I got sad at the end knowing it's ending but that just means I enjoyed it so much that I'm sad about the end! Therefore, I conclude that this manga is totally enjoyable to read if you're into action, zombie, and suspense.

OVERALL SCORE: 10! I love it and it's one of my favorite manga I've ever read!

This manga seems promising at first, and will start with some thrilling moments, but after some time, it loses a lot. Nothing like seeing the main characters slaughter hordes of zombies not long after the second time they leave the jail. Also it adds some interesting concepts, like the zombies getting new shapes, that it's truly explored.... once? It's amazing how many good stuff could be done that was dropped. Same thing with the introduction of one of the few female characters, that it was completely dropped and out of place. The worse part is how when things get ''promising'' again, it ends. And it's ... really sudden.

To add up, all the characters are really, but really bland. We have wimp MC, smart friend, leader friend, strong nice friend... and I guess this other guy that is mean but kinda nice. We get a few tagalongs along the way, like guy that is also nice, and woman that feels like an attempt as fanservice, and woman that knows stuff. It also does the trope of showing the characters backstory right before they die, which one time is out of the blue, the other one is done alright, as his story was teased beforehand.

So tl;dr, okay stuff to read, pretty bland and uninspired

Apocalypse no Toride (Fort of Apocalypse) is definitely one of the best manga series I've read. It's packed with action, gore, interesting characters, a bit of fan dis-service, a bit of fan service, and a good storyline.

Story- 8/10
A good old zombie thriller. The zombie apocalypse starts and the characters have to find a way to survive. The setting starts at a juvenile detention center, but travels across different parts of Japan, giving glimpses of how the world has changed due to the apocalypse.

The plot progression is pretty good, too. It goes at a steady, but quick pace, bringing new information to the reader ... with each arc. The only complaint would be how each arc is so conveniently timed. The moment they solve one problem, the next one pops up. Realistically, I would think that these problems crop up in the middle of each other... But I give in to the suspension of belief.

The plot gets rather creative as the story goes on as well. It's a zombie series so it's a matter of shooting the undead and trying to survive, but this series gives a number of nice twists and turns as it goes.

The characters' decisions are believable as well. They match realistically with their personalities. "That is such an idiotic thing to do during an apocalypse!" ...well, he's an impulsive character who likes getting the last laugh so that makes sense.

Art- 10/10
How do you know that this is a main character??! Well, if they are good looking...

Inabe Kuze's art is gorgeous. From the characters to the scenery to the zombies to the weapons, all of it is amazing. The pretty boys and the pretty girl are all eye candy. The action scenes are smooth and the gore is well done. Occasionally, I question if someone with a snapped neck would move like that, but I imagine there are very few references for that out there.

But yea, the fanservice- pretty boys and girl
The fan dis-service- the zombies. ...The wonderfully terrifying abominations that will haunt me in my sleep.

Character- 9/10
The four main characters are well done. They're well fleshed out and hints of their hidden sides are shown early on. Unfortunately, what the author seemed to have traded in for character exploration was character development. There's not much of it throughout the series. It was, understandably, more of an action series than a psychological one. However, we do get to see how the main character goes from wimpy to badass.

Also included in my character rating are the zombies. The designs are creative, unlike the average slow moving, grunting zombies seen in movies. For a particular group of zombies, it was so terrifying that I simply stared at it in shock for several minutes. Maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but the shock was definitely there.

Enjoyment- 9/10
This was ultimately a very enjoyable series. There were heartbreaking and hilarious moments alike. And, of course, the terrifying zombie apocalypse moments! It ultimately loses out on a point from me simply because the story as a whole didn't feel complete. It felt like there was a lot more left to explore, but the author chose to end it where it was.

It felt like a roller coaster ride of a story, but the rest of the amusement park was left unexplored.

Does the ending feel really really rushed?

YES. There is no denying that.

So, Does it suck?

Absolutely not! The story/plot isn't the strongest point of this manga. It is not intricate or deep. It won't leave you retrospecting about its characters or plot. What the author excels in is visual storytelling. Each chapter starts and ends with a bang, with amazing action, mystery, and artwork that complements it perfectly. The characters go through zombie hell without getting a break. At no point does it feel slow or dragged out. And this is where the author failed in my opinion. He failed ... to bank on this aspect of the story and continue to a satisfactory end. By the time you reach the end, you are ecstatic with joy and suspense. Wanting to read more, you rush through the chapters but are brought to a screeching halt. And the manga just ends.


TLDR:
The destination isn't gonna be the best, but strap yourself in for one heck of a wild journey.

This is what people should read during the pandemic. Absolute thriller and great entertainment. Based on adventure of 4 prison cell mate facing the zombie apocalypse. From an intellectual angle, they did good a good origin story for the virus species. Ending of the manga is acceptable as at most human capabilities, we can't achieve complete extinction of a unknown species but it will take time to control it. Within the control we can co-exist, as far as symptoms are not favouring. Manga has various number of character with different perspective unique to them as their pasts are written well and it does have impact ... on their characteristics. On top of that art of the manga is magnificent special the Gou scenes.

Maeda gets imprisoned in false accusation of murder. He is sent to a disciplinary named Shouran academy as he is underage for committing crime. He was unaware of an apocalypse approaching towards the whole world; got lucky escape by isolated in the prison academy. Unfortunate is somehow the zombie virus gets inside the academy through the guards, which later cause a havoc in the disciplinary academy. Maeda along with his no.4 cellmates Iwakara, Yoshioka and Yamanoi escapes the academy. They face many infected but get lucky escape through it. To survive they gather weapens, even went to the military office but get disappointed as military isn't match for the infecteds addition to that they don't have enough data of the weakness of the zombies. After approaching a complete inhuman with three pupils and no genitals, they get sure that inhuman is the one controlling zombies. After more research on him, get to know it posses incredible healing ability and controlling infected ability through voice. As far as safety is concerned they get back to the academy again, as it is isolated area. In academy, they get to know more about the infection with more help of Hanabata and Kasabara, who came all the way from Kyoto to Tokyo in search of doctor to cure Hanabata's child who is infected. Later in academy they face a fraud organization, which later get destroyed by the help of all the cellmates. On further, they get a unknown call from someone claiming herself to be researcher of the infection. From her they learn about F-type virus and M-type virus, where F stands for father which is rare and M stands for mother which is common that majority has been infected with. Later with her cooperation Maeda and his company meet up with the researcher Yuuko sakagami. With facing all circumstances and losing life's of friends at last they succeed to make the cure.

im a huge sucker for zombie media, and when i heard there was a zombie manga that i had never heard of that takes huge, huge inspiration from 'i am a hero' i legit started reading it within 2 minutes after.

story, 7: the story setting basically revolved around either being stuck in the detention facility, or going across the city somewhere, with random zombie hijinks mixed in the middle, exactly what i want from a zombie series, chaotic cities and cramped buildings where smart thinking or a last second brain splattering save by the protagonist saves the day, all with yoshioka dropping a one liner ... like every other chapter. this series basically copy and pastes the 'zombie evolution' and 'higher beings' stuff from i am a hero, though im not really mad about it because i really wanted to see more on something like that after being very dissatisfied by the ending

i loved i am a hero's take on the zombie genre and all, but was kinda sad that it ended so abruptly, and guess what, so does this one! yeah, its a pretty short read. however, i feel like apocalypse no toride actually got the better ending, dont get me wrong, theres still a lot of questions unanswered, but i feel like it left on a better note than i am a hero.


art, 7: the art is apocalypse no toride is really interesting, because on one hand you have the gritty realistic style of zombies and their evolutions like in i am a hero, and on the other you have this mix of bleach (especially in how iwakura is drawn) and like, attack on titan??? with all the crazy stuff that happens near the end. overall its not like, an outstandingly unique style or anything, but that doesnt mean its not visually pleasing to look at, which it is and then some. (and very NOT appealing when it needs to be)


character, 9: this is where i feel apocalypse no toride shines the brightest, now ill be honest, i dont really care for the main character toooo too much, hes an alright character, especially in the emotional moments, but like we barely get any of maeda's family or backstory, probably because the series was cut so short.

however, the others of the main cast really bring this series from a 6 to an 8, while being kinda 2 dimensional characters that dont really have a too deep story or anything, they dont really need to be fleshed out and more complex to be enjoyable characters. these are just a group of friends who bond over the travesty taking over the world, just trying to live a day at a time.

there were moments during this where the characters ALMOST made me tear up, and i never cry, at least while reading, lol.


enjoyment, 8: i binged this in like, 24 hours tops? i mean its not that long, but i was pretty invested. its a great read if you love the zombie genre, and even if you dont care for it as much, i bet you the characters will be enough to get you to read the whole thing.

Apocalypse no Toride is one of these mangas that you'll finish reading and think to yourself, "wow, I had a great time" - it is short enough to maintain your focus on the bizarre plot filled with charming characters and insanely good art. It is another example of how Inabe Kazu (the artist) and Kuraishi Yuu (the writer) make a great duo when it comes to creating the perfect nightmare fuel material.

Here are my thoughts in further detail.

◸ᴘʀᴏꜱ
• The art is so good you will not want to stop reading. The design of the monsters starts off as pretty basic ... when compared to other zombies in different manga (and other forms of media in general), but gradually evolves into some of the most disgusting creatures I have ever laid my eyes upon - and I am saying this positively. Another fun aspect is how the monsters are drawn overly-realistic, perfectly stepping into the uncanny zone, while the main characters are drawn in a traditional anime style. The more you read, the more the art becomes more complex and enticing to look at.
• The characters are likeable and the plot make you root for them, even though they are criminals and hurt people in their past (which resulted in them getting to a youth detention center - the main location of the manga).
• The story is very fun and not at all complicated to read. Kuraishi Yuu did not attempt to explain the apocalypse using impossible science and treated it mostly with supernatural aspects - something that is lacking in Shokuryou Jinrui.

◸ᴄᴏɴꜱ
• The characters and their roles are too similar to other works made by Kuraishi Yuu. When compared to their other popular manga Shokuryou Jinrui, seeing the repeated traits and even design is to say the least - disappointing. After reading Shokuryou Jinrui I did not expect to see the very same characters in a different manga. To put this into a better perspective, I did not know it was the same mangaka until I noticed that the characters were practically the same.
• Some arcs feel rushed and then left unexplained in by the ending. I cannot get specific for the sake of a spoiler-free review, but the ending left me with many characters left unheard from (with a clear premise through the manga that we will receive some sort of closure) and questions regarding the 'solution' to this apocalypse and its' nature.

Finished this in 5 secs lol JK. It's a short 49 chapters but it's good read. I enjoy this short but entertaining series. The story itself isn't grand, but it's honestly fun to read.

Arts is good, and it carries the story a lil' bit. Character-wise, I like the main characters; glasses guy, yakuza guy and long haired guy (:v) I like these guys more than the main MC (the guy on the cover).

Not much to comment, because it's short but rather enjoyable. I would say that the ending is a bit rushed, but I don't really mind it. The rushed ending doesn't ruin this ... manga as a whole, because the earlier arcs are indeed fast paced, so I don't mind the rushed ending.

** plot spoiler free, will vaguely discuss a few science concepts **

decided to read this entirely on a whim one evening and i got totally engrossed. not gonna lie, i went into this not even knowing the english translation of the manga name so i had no idea it was even zombie related. that was good though, at least i had to expectations! even if i did, i think they would have been met at the very least :)

i'm a huge zombie buff and i consume SO MUCH zombie related media, the concept genuinely facinates me. besides HOTD (sidenote - i did enjoy it) this ... was the very second zombie manga i ever read and i wasnt disappointed!! there's a lot of deus ex machina in the zombie/horror universe in general so i was prepared so have a few convenient plot holes and whatnot but to be honest, i felt pretty fulfilled through the entire thing and i really *really* enjoyed the character development since it didn't feel way out of what or completely at a standstill.

story - i enjoyed the entire storyline. a few science concepts were a little whacky/wouldn't have held up irl (forensic scientist day job - unfortunatly it's my job to be a buzz kill here) so i did have to raise my eyebrow at a few different points but it's not really that unusual of an occurance for this genre. so, not surprised and i can mostly overlook it. someone without a science background wouldn't really be too bothered about this kind of trivial stuff i think.
i liked the ending a lot. it makes sense to me, and it seems like the most realistic concept for me. i love how they didn't just end the story after the final hurdle and actually expanded on the universe a little bit, and also on the characters and their respective endings.

art - point blank loved it. gore is my thing and when it's done well it brings me joy.

character - they're all individuals and progress naturally throughout the story in a way that makes sense in their current circumstances. humour didn't seem out of place and wasn't forced. they're all highschool boys and it seemed to flow very naturally to me.

enjoyment/overall - 10/10 enjoyment in every aspect but the story. 9/10 overall. few odd moments but nothing is ever perfect. if i go on to read any other zombie related manga, i think they're going to have a hard time trying to beat this one.

if you're gonna read it, total thumbs up from me - just make sure you're okay with gore AND body horror :)

I'll start with this;

Fort of apocalypse is probably the best zombie manga I have ever read, It's like "I'm a hero" but even more jacked, ambrosia flows throw its veins and probably fucks 100x more bitches.

The art is fantastic, I just loved looking at it, The panels flow together and the art is CLEAAAN. I never once stopped reading to try and comprehend wtf is going on even with all the crazy shit happening. Kazu Inabe did an amazing job on the art.

The characters aren't the most thought-provoking, deep, or any of that bullcrap but god are they so lovable, I instantly took a liking ... to the group of four dumbasses and they have good backstories that clearly show how they became who they are and why.

The pacing is fantastic, seriously, there wasn't a single time I got bored throughout my read-through, No boring-ass exposition! The zombie disease keeps one-upping itself until the end so much so that when I thought "That has to be it, right? right?" It kept blowing away my expectations right until the end. The progression of the story and its scale is reminiscent of Chainsaw man.

The story isn't too short or too long, just the perfect length. It didn't overstay its welcome. The story isn't deep but it is very fun. You can read it in one sitting.


Overall, I rate everything 10/10. Please, even if you don't read zombie manga, just give it a try.

how unique of a story this is! Taking the perspective of an indicted criminal who is just an innocent bystander in a maximum security prison, Apocalypse no toride follows a gang of one innocent child and 3 menaces who are actually not bad people at all, they were just delt a wrong hand, through the horrors of a zombie apocalypse.

HOWEVER there were a lot of things I wanted to see, and there were a few questions left unanswered. A few amazing characters did not get enough screen time and it was really disappointing; that all brought it down to an 8.

Also, the ... last chapter had a couple of random stuff and just felt like cannon fodder. With all this content, it could've been streched to +100 chapters honestly.

Art: 8/10
This is no berserk level material, but then again, what is? The art in this manga was very good, and I really enjoyed the many different varieties of zombies and different abilities they had. These zombies were nothing like the ones you see in the walking dead, these zombies are deadlier than any super athlete or criminal; they were seriously, hideously, beautiful.

Characters: 8/10
never have I felt so empathetic for a fictional character. Their growth is apparent throughout every chapter and you really begin to feel their humanity. They all know the struggles of growing up in a hostile environment and they all have backgrounds that make any shounen protagonist shrivel in depression.

Enjoyment: 9/10
I read this all in 2 days; staying up till 1:00am due to all the suspense and thrill. it was like a drug.
