Just to put a short word in ~

IDK exactly whats going on, but it doesn't stop at 5 chapters and it has more than one volume.

Its kinda sad tho because the story is still going on and while they did make good progress when you get to the latest chapter you just want to read more but there is already little enough as is.

The story is decently paced and cute with the short read that it currently is but be warned it has no real "end".

If readers are interested in yuri/shoujo ai and have never read Poor Poor Lips then I recommend ... you read that one :P

A super pleasant read! Asagao to Kase-san is an excellent blend of conflict on romance, school, and expectations.

Story [7]

The story consists of Yamada, a shy, hesitant girl, confused with her emotions towards Kase, a "boyish" girl and star of the track team. It's more or less your standard love story, with misunderstandings and both characters just trying to see where they are in the relationship.

Art [8]

The art is nothing spectacular, but also does not disappoint. It does justice to each character, and you can really get a feel for what the manga is about from the soft lines ... and delicate features.

Character [7]

The characters themselves are somewhat standard, whether you're looking at it from a heterosexual or homosexual romance viewpoint.

You have the more dominant, experienced partner (Kase), and the innocent, "younger" partner (Yamada). While nothing gets too explicitly sexual, there are scenes where you can really see this dynamic come into play. Despite the yuri stereotypes, the mangaka does do a great job of having both girls still come into conflict with their relationship, and develop over time, leaving a bit of their overbearing personality traits behind to become better for one another.

Enjoyment [9], Overall [8]

Asagao to Kase-san is simply a cute, endearing read. I can not wait to see how everything goes once the entire series ends. There are sequel mangas after this, so if you're interested in pursuing the series, I do recommend those as well!

WARNINGS: Asagao to Kase-san does have mildly sexually suggestive scenes.

I'm pretty confused, I just got done reading this pretty great Shoujo Ai and it's definitely more than five chapters, there was 11.

I thoroughly enjoyed this manga, it was light hearted and very romantic, definitely worth the read if you like Yuri/Shoujo Ai/Slice of Life.

For me, I give it a solid 8/10 I wish there was a bit more chapters, I would have loved to know what happened during their trip to Okinawa, after the beach portion, kind of wish that whole part was a bit longer, but one can only wish, right?

Other than that, a very good read, definitely check it out if ... you're into the whole Yuri/Shoujo Ai stuff ;-; This is, by far, my most preferred genre, so people may think otherwise and that doesn't bother me.

Again, pretty confused as to why MAL has it listed as five chapters, hopefully it gets edited soon.

Very cute story about two very different girls developing a relationshio

As of 5/21/17 a new manga called yamada to kase san has started as a sequel with them both in college

Yamada may be shy and rather clumsy, but the flower gardens at her school have always brought her happiness. Suddenly, a different sort of beauty catches her eye—the vivacious track star, Kase-san. Although the two girls don't seem to have much in common, they soon start a romance where each must learn an important lesson in tending their budding relationship. Can the two girls, so different from each other, learn how to make ... their first love blossom?

It's nothing bad, just disappointed that all the chapters weren't translated or can't be found. The plot is basic, a athletic girl with a nice body falls in love with a girl who likes to garden. Yeah, it's a basic love plot, but it paces up good in the long run and I recommend everyone to read this atleast once.

Story (7.8): Short, sweet and simple. No fooling around, and that's what I like about in a good Yuri, but it could've been a 9 if I got or anyone in fact got to see how it ended.

Characters (8.0): The characters are simple and ... sweet, and there seems to be a main focus on the two anyways. No love triangles in the way and no bad things are happening that'll probably hinder the plot. Everything is find and dandy, again something I like to have in a romance manga, and especially in a Yuri, which is something rare.

Art (8.5): The art isn't the best, but it's really unique and gives out a flesh and cute look for the two main girls in the story.

Enjoyment (8.2): Probably like everyone else, I was hoping to read more of this wonderful Yuri, but I got so lost when it came to the end. Like I wanted to see their future together, but no... you have to get a hand of the last few chapters yourself just to find the ending of this really good Yuri.

Overall (8.2): I would love to recommend this Yuri to everyone honestly, but the ending isn't there nor does anyone care to translate it. I've tried to read the raw version of this because there's more raw chapters than there is translated sadly..., and it does look good, but it's no use trying to read something you can't read. So I recommend people to read something like "Girlfriends", "Poor Poor Lips", or "Hanjuku Joshi" (If you want to read something spicy). They're good reads, and hope everyone that's reading this enjoys it like I did, but get ready to be disappointed because you won't see the ending.

Tasty yuri self-indulgence manga. I would eat this manga every breakfast if it was bread.

However, this manga contains quite a lot of unnecessary drama that would've been easily avoided if the characters simply communicated to one another. The main characters are high school aged girls so it isn't a surprise that they experience troubles such as the consequences of keeping their worries to themselves.
I think the story does get better once the girls age but it does feel a little sad when they get out of high school... Aside from the drama, the story in itself is wholesome and fluffy and I love ... the relationship between Kase and Yamada.
Each chapter of the manga makes you wish for more and I'm grateful I managed to encounter this manga at an age where I felt uncertain feelings towards masc girls.

first of all, no my categories make no sense and don't question it.

second of all. for some reason some blockhead thought itd be funny to include both the first and the second "season" of this manga in the same entry on MAL. so there are 5 volumes that round up the first and the second is at the time of writing still releasing, i only write this because there seems to be some confusion about that

tl:dr review: you like actual progressing romance and yuri? absolutely read it. its in my opinion the most wholesome yuri romance that was ever put to paper (in manga form ... because i'm a degenerate and books are too wordy for me :^)
you dont like romance? why are you even here

Story 8: its a romance that goes somewhere there is not much story to be had but that what i would call a story in here is pretty satisfying, with which i mean that life goes on for the characters and they have to deal with that. that is about the most plot development ive ever seen in a romance so its a good for me. also im biased


Art 7: at first, i hated the art. in the first 2 or so volumes the art can look straight up bad at times especially the chibi art was really offputting to me. but thankfully the art improves considerably over the runtime and in the sequel i would even rank it as an 8 overall. but because its so spotty i wont go into details and just say, i am more than happy that i stayed even though i reallly disliked the art initially


Characters 8: ok, hear me out. ik that all of the 2 people who read my boku girl review are gonna say "ye i see that 8 for characters is really rare for you" and granted, aside from yui the characters can feel rather one note. but i like yui alot and this is my review so sshh.
they are consistent tho and if a character can make me care for someone such as kase who goes against anything i find attractive, im hard pressed to be salty about character writing this solid

Enjoyment 10: told ya im biased.
you read the tl:dr if not let me say it again. i cant point to a single shouji ai romance that left me more cozy and feel good as this one. might be that i was at pretty bad spot when i read it but screw it the manga gets points for it anyway. i just like cute girls being happy and this one is quite good at that soooo uugh yea 10/10 best manga ever


Conclusion : im not gonna repeat myself a third time, read it.

Kase-san is awesome!
If I had to describe it in one word : wholesome.
It's a simple and cute story. There isn't drama or weird things in it, it is just a normal and sane love story between two girls. And that's actually a good point, I'm so sick of weird yuri with drama, and abusive relationships...
Even if it simple, it is well written and drawn. The characters are well developped and the artstyle is pretty and expressive.
I liked that there relationship feels more "natural" than in most shoujo-ai, they get together quickly and the characters aren't ashamed of their relationship.
There are some hot scenes but it's ... not oversexualised or too explicit.

In conclusion, Kase-san & is a masterpiece, and the best yuri I've read so far.
