Both have gorgeous art in simular styles, include elements of fantasy mixed with reality, a cast that is prodominently male, and border on the line of BL. In each story, the main manifestation of the "evil creatures" also look very simular.

These stories deal with a relatively modern world, except there are supernatural elements (such as demonlike creatures) that the main characters work to control and protect unaware bystanders. Shino and Kio are abnormally powerful and are under the watchful eye of a large overseeing organization. Both works feature beautiful art and a well planned and structured story.
