While Kuronuma Sawako isn't weird as Sunako, she is feared by her classmates as being gloomy (with the ability to communicate with the dead) because of her similar appearance to Sadako from "The Ring".
The heroine is scary and almost look exactly, black long hair which is hiding face, inexperience with outer world and never had a contact with anyone else, but in fact theyre quite pretty when their face is exposed
Yup, Sunako and Sawako = Sadako.
main characters both dark girls trying to come out of their shells.. well one more than the other lol

the main characters are both lonely and without any friends in school but they are trying hard to change the situation by overcoming their shyness and learning how to socialize with others to start making new friends.
Both have girls in school who don't have friends but wish to change that.
Both girls are shy and they both have the affection of a popular boy who wishes to help them.
Both female protagonists are, at first, a lonesome girl. They both get close with a cool and popular guy that supports them to socialize with others. Both manga involves romance and school life.

They have similar types of humor and romance. The main characters both trust easily and are often thickest when it comes to matter surrounding themselves. Both these series are cute, funny, lighthearted reads that are a treat fr any shoujo manga fan.
well, kimi ni todoke and koukou debut was somewhat similar to each other. the art is somekinda similar too. the love story is light and refreshing to read.^^
Koukou Debut and Kimi ni Todoke are both romantic, funny, sweet, light hearted and easy to read with a good amount of the normal high school/teenage drama to balance it out. Both manga involve an optimistic girl as the main character that is trying to improve on some aspect in her life who meets a good looking, kind and cool guy along the way along with some new friends.

the part that the main character is unapproachable and have no friends.
but it changed as this certain guy appeared in their lives..
In both mangas you have one girl with no friends and no boyfriend meet with the school's most popular guy. This meeting triggers the main character to make more friends. So their high school story begins.

These two mangas are similar because both the main characters have a scary face, yet kind personatliy underneath. they also have a signficant other that reveals their true self to everyone and eventually they fall in love with eachother. Both very good reads :}
In Beast Master, Leo is a guy who's avoided because he's scary-looking, when all he wants to do is make friends, just like Sadako-chan. Then he meets Kubozuka Yuiko, a popular girl who doesn't think he's scary and befriends him. Eventually everyone finds out that Leo isn't at all as scary as he looks.

Right from the start Ono in Aozora Yel reminded me of Sawako in Kimi ni Todoke. Their facial expressions and actions are similiar but that's not the only similarity! They both have a cheerful male friend that is supporting them in their dreams. Both of the mangas are really awesome stories about highschool life!

both have a lead male that many girls like and "belongs to everyone."
Both include school life love stories.

It has the same type of romance, except in Bakuman the main character is a lot more shy than Shouta in Kimi ni Todoke

The 2nd story of the Nostalgia volume is about a gloomy but pretty girl nicknamed Sadako and avoided by her classmates, except for a guy, which is basically the same plot of Kimi Ni Todoke.

Both main characters are feared by pretty much everyone at the start, then later on they make friends. Also both of them are pretty clueless, always getting accused of stuff and not understanding the situations.
In both stories, at first, the main character is disliked, Sawako because of her scary appearance and Tanpopo because she's from the countryside.
However these optimistic girls don't give up in finding friends and, of course, true love.
Don't miss these sweet high school stories!

Two sweet, pure, love stories. They are both funny and the guys are both cheerful.
Both have a refreshing female lead who is not ditzy, but totally oblivious to her good points and the male character's feelings.
Story wise the two doesn't have any similarity but why I'm recommending this is because they both have a great plot. They both have a nice touching, sweet intricate story told in somewhat slow pace but elegant atmosphere. Take note this two series are over the top heartfelt and gives you a satisfying experience!

Both main characters are kind of socially awkward and are trying to change themselves in order to make friends and fit in.
Both have girls who are "scary"
they are similar because they both have a
"scary" girl for a main character
Both are slice-of-life high school love stories - just that JTT is like KnT trippin' on acid: more aggressive, crazy and funny!
Both highly recommended.

When I was reading Kimi ni Todoke, I got the same feeling I got while reading NANA. The plot lines revolve around different things, but it's about a girl making a new set of friends. In both stories the main character just wants to be be closer to the people around them. They both progress kind of slowly in the romance department though. NANA has a little bit more of a dark tone to it (adults in the real world), while Kimi ni Todoke is a bit more innocent (teens in school).
You should definitely read both.

They're pretty but they both have scary looks. One is branded "Sadako" with the creepy atmosphere everywhere she goes and whatever she does, and the other, someone with a menacing smile in front of a camera.
Both are a great read, good character development, and yes ... both are dense when it comes to love.
Both mangas deal with girls who are "different" from other girls in their grade, they've fallen in love with a popular boy. These two mangas are under the comedy, shoujo, romance, and school life genres. They mostly fall under the typical shoujo plot, like angry love rivals, but nonetheless, they're worth reading.
