Very similar plot - shy and timid girls gets saved by popular guy in school. Both very cute and sparkly - a good read for mood raising.

well, kimi ni todoke and koukou debut was somewhat similar to each other. the art is somekinda similar too. the love story is light and refreshing to read.^^

Kimi ni Todoke and Hibi Chouchou adapts shoujo to the core with their gimmicks. Both series' main protagonists explores youth during their time at school. The relationships they forge with others become a key development aspect in their development. From those relationships emerges themes of friendship and romance. There is decent amount of drama present in both series as well. They often revolves around relationships and real life problems. Recommended for fans of shoujo.

Both about a really dense girl with very little social skills and a male love interest that's perfect to the dot... Last Game's time frame/setting moves a lot quicker, but they're both really similar.
reportRecommended by tarepanda
Both characters are really cute and innocent and they both also fall in love with the popular guy at school.
reportRecommended by Sapphirebreeze
Both mangas deal with girls who are "different" from other girls in their grade, they've fallen in love with a popular boy. These two mangas are under the comedy, shoujo, romance, and school life genres. They mostly fall under the typical shoujo plot, like angry love rivals, but nonetheless, they're worth reading.
reportRecommended by Bou
Both have a strong female lead that is pure and determined. Both male leads are also considered "popular" and friendly at school. The plots focus on school life - friendships, romance, goals, etc. Very heartwarming storylines. Only big difference is the art style - KnT is more shoujo-esque, while StL has more seinen vibes.
reportRecommended by sweet_chunk4
Both main characters are feared by pretty much everyone at the start, then later on they make friends. Also both of them are pretty clueless, always getting accused of stuff and not understanding the situations.
reportRecommended by SPlKE
There are lot similarities in Ao Haru Ride to Kimi ni Todoke. Both mangas are from genres school life and slice of life. Both mangas have relationships: student&teacher, childhood friends and classmates. Both mangas have great and moving moments and both are very enjoyable! So... If you liked Kimi ni Todoke then you might like Ao Haru Ride.

They both involve a high school relationship, and in both, they all have trouble understanding eachother's feelings, even though it's quite obvious that they are in love. And this leads to a few misunderstandings between the parties because they have problems conveying their feelings properly. That's all the real similarity between the two. In terms of plot setting. Other than that, they are quite different.
reportRecommended by JoeSchulz
The leads really remind me of each other.

They're pretty but they both have scary looks. One is branded "Sadako" with the creepy atmosphere everywhere she goes and whatever she does, and the other, someone with a menacing smile in front of a camera. Both are a great read, good character development, and yes ... both are dense when it comes to love.
reportRecommended by Samara_Fae
Both Sunako and Shio are secluded from their classmates and experienced being bad-mouthed around school until Nao and Kazehaya helped them to make friends. Both Nao and Kazehaya are friendly and free thus helped the girls to become bright.

The style of drawing is similar. In both a girl tries to make friends and clear misunderstanding with a help of famous boy.

Despite Horimiya being categorised as a shounen title, it is strongly typified by shoujo elements such as those in Kimi ni Todoke.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
These mangas have a very similar feel to them. The main characters scare off their classmates unintentionally. However, they both work very hard to become more approachable. Along the way, they go through many trials in their effort to make friends and be properly understood.

In Beast Master, Leo is a guy who's avoided because he's scary-looking, when all he wants to do is make friends, just like Sadako-chan. Then he meets Kubozuka Yuiko, a popular girl who doesn't think he's scary and befriends him. Eventually everyone finds out that Leo isn't at all as scary as he looks.

The plot is a little similar. Sawako in Kimi ni Todoke and Haru in Tonari no Kaibutsukun are both misunderstood by their classmates but not for the same reason.

Kimi ni Todoke and Honey Lemon Soda share one of the most common tropes in shoujo manga, outcast FL and popular ML. These two manga take this troupe to an extreme though. Both FL are being borderline bullied in their respective school, until the ML takes it upon himself to look after the FL. Both FL's have overprotective fathers who can't bear to see their previous daddy's girl with no friends leave the nest and get a boyfriend. Throughout the both manga the FL begins to make more and more friends with the help of the ML. Both manga are adorable and I guarantee if  read more

They're both about shy, quite girls who are taken out of their shells by the most popular guys in school. In both the attention they receive from the guys leads to bully from other students in the school and in both they end up falling in love (though they are really confused about it). Both of these are great and I highly recommend each.
reportRecommended by CuteAnimeJunkie
Both feature a popular guy who falls in love with an unpopular girl. Both have a beautiful rival that tries to steal the male protagonist´s heart, the difference is, while KnT is told by the perspective of the heroine, HS is told by the perspective of the rival. Also the protagonist of HS greatly resembles Kurumi from KnT in looks and personality.
reportRecommended by Orulyon
Both series are categorized as shoujo/romance with an overshadowing theme of friendship and social anxiety. While Orange is darker than Kimi ni Todoke, both involve exploring the modern, unspoken difficulties of connecting with others and the result of cultivating a meaningful relationship.

It is easy to identify what isn't similar about these series considering Amanchu! does not have a romantic plot but I've generally felt the same impact from both manga. They are both coming of age stories and the main characters (Sawako and Dotty) all pass through a necessary growth to better themselves and have more self confidence as well as not rely on a close one (Kazehaya and Pikari). What is different is one may be focusing more on the friendship plot than the romance oriented one. Both are quite adorable though and do give a unique feeling of warmth. The impeccable art that goes with it,  read more

- Both are about girls starting high school wanting to make friends -Both have a history as to why they have no friends -Both main characters make 'frenemies' near the start -The main love interests look similar

Both involve themes of learning how to communicate and understand others. Both have a girl who was bullied/mistreated by their peers. Both have a slow building relationship between a boy and a girl as well as them building strong relationships with friends. Koe no Katachi is a lot darker in tone and the main character's outlook is pessimistic while Kimi ni Todoke is more lighthearted with an optimistic main character. Both will probably make you cry a little bit.
reportRecommended by Saccharine_
The plot is quite similar: for some reason the male/female protagonist has a scary face, therefore it is hard for him/her to build friendly or romantic relationships in high school. The main characters are lovely and the stories are nice (however, Kimi ni todoke is much longer with more characters and conflicts).
reportRecommended by mrssirmawk
I find the protagonists to be similar. Sawako is known as the scary girl, while Tsubasa is known as the stalker girl. In actuality, both girls are fairly innocent and naive. In Tsubasa to Hotaru, the protagonist ends up filling in for her best friend as the boy's basketball manager. And similar to Kimi ni Todoke, she ends up finding her place in school and being accepted.
reportRecommended by roguewolf
These are both character-driven stories and are kind of melodramatic. The source of drama is totally different hence these two manga are also completely different, but they are both really good and really amazing. Both have really strong heroines and really cool male protagonists. Kazehaya (Kimi ni Todoke) and Yano (Bokura ga Ita) are both popular among girls but their approach was totally different. While Kazehaza always holds himself back in order to wait for his girl, Yano kind of forces his ways onto his girl. The guys are also very mature, kind of, in a way, which makes the two stories a whole lot  read more

Namida Usagi is reverse version of kimi ni todoke because in kimi ni tode is the girl who always misunderstood and always afraid to her beacuse they tought that sawako is from the movie "the ring" called sadako.. and thats why she always called out sadako not sawako.

I think the two male leads look alike XD but besides that, they both help the girl experience love, they help the girl make new friends, the girl's a nobody then eventually becomes the apple of everyone's eye

Looking for a classic shoujo? The answer is here. Hirunaka no Ryuusei and Kimi ni Todoke are easily candidates for readers who are looking for a charming romance series. In fact, both series takes place in a school life environment where drama and romance ensures. The main male protagonist from both series gets acquainted with the main girl where relationship becomes a dynamic focus as part of the story. There is focus also involving other characters that all get connected in various ways to flesh out the main themes of both series.
reportRecommended by Stark700
When I was reading Kimi ni Todoke, I got the same feeling I got while reading NANA. The plot lines revolve around different things, but it's about a girl making a new set of friends. In both stories the main character just wants to be be closer to the people around them. They both progress kind of slowly in the romance department though. NANA has a little bit more of a dark tone to it (adults in the real world), while Kimi ni Todoke is a bit more innocent (teens in school). You should definitely read both.
reportRecommended by kallykinsCXIII
Both are romance manga that also have a good focus on friendship and character development. The story and characters are all very wholesome in both as well.
reportRecommended by Quillium
A girl is misunderstood by her class as being scary because she rarely shows her emotions, but when she does she looks really cute. She does a lot of behind-the-scenes niceties which nobody really notices. When people start paying more attention to her, she makes friends but also enemies, and there's bullying going on in both. And a LOT of misunderstandings because people can't voice their feelings properly. The main girls look very similar, and both give off a very similar "innocent" vibe.
reportRecommended by MeNaK
Both girls are shy and reserved and respect the popular boy in their class. The relationships are also similar. Kimi ni Todoke is much longer though.

they are both hilarious with an awkward female lead making funny faces chasing after a pretty boy male shoujo lead. please god read this manga i havent laughed this much in a while it deserves more people reading it.

The comedy on both series are done through the lonelies and kindness of our main character, and her pursuit for friendship. While both heroines are pretty lonely MC on Kimi Ni Todoke is misunderstand because of her apparance while the other has anxiety issues. Kimi ni Todoke also has romance while Hitoribocchi is more focused on friendship.

In both series the main heroine starts off with a bad reputation (either being scary or ugly). Then she meets and befriends the most popular/handsome boy in school, who doesn't care about her looks but sees her for who she is. She changes herself and with the help of said boy works on her image to have more chance in her love life.

These girls also make friends and slowly become less intimidating to and more welcomed by those around them

Things that happen in both: -two girls like the same boy -two boys like the same girl -a girl goes out with a guy without truly liking him -close friendships form among people with very different personalities -there is a mostly silent character (Ryu and Murao) and an extremely bubbly character (Kent and Kominato) -there is romantic tension between a student and a teacher

Kageno datte Seishun Shitai and Kimi ni Todoke are both about a shy girl with no friends trying to make friends in high school. In school, the first person that opens up to the FL is the outgoing, popular, good looking ML. The FL first sees the ML as a source of inspiration on how to make friends but this admiration slowly turns into love. There are many points in both stories where FL doesn't feel worthy of ML and springs some conflict. Along with ML's fangirls bullying the FL. Overall, very similar series and if you like one you'll like the other.

There are many differences: the personality and physical appearance of the female lead, the importance of the love triangle, the quality of the art style, the type of feelings explored, the length, etc. However the overall atmosphere is similar in some ways, like the classroom interactions, the friendship between the female lead and other characters, the thoughtfullness with which the authors explore the emotional mindset of their adolescent characters.

Slow-paced high school first love stories. Leaves behind a heartwarming feeling. Both couples are really shy towards each other and find it hard to express their feelings. LOTS OF BLUSHING, INNOCENCE AND CUTENESS. Hatsukare - Author of 'AKUMA TO LOVE SONG'

although the story and the universe are nothing alike, the main couple gives major kazehaya and sawako vibes!

Both mangas are about high schoolers falling in love from a sweet point of view. Simples but cutes mangas shojos. In KnT the story follows the main girl growth (she has troubles expressing herself and so is unable to make Friends) as she falls for a refreshing classmate in the three years of highschool. LC follows the relationship between the cheerful protagonist and the boy. The story here follows their relationship itself, taking place not only in highschool but university too.
reportRecommended by YooJung
Both is about a character growth of the female lead by the help of the male lead. Both also has friendship plot in it. The different are: Nanairo Kakumei has quicker character growth and more friendship in it

They are both love stories...and very cute. They have the same kind of feel to it with the main girl learning how to open up to people with the bonus of a love interest.

if you liked kimi ni todoke, i'm sure you would enjoy kawaii hito and its wholesome nature. kawaii hito's main male protagonist, hanazono, is like sawako in many ways, as both have a "creepy" like appearance and a gold heart. kawaii hito follows the traditional shoujo style while leaving out any love triangles, unrequited love, and etc. (as someone who loved kimi ni todoke, admittedly i got frustrated at the kind of angst that sawako and kazehaya had to go through like miscommunication. kawaii hito is an ongoing, light-hearted manga, which is hard not to love.)
reportRecommended by s4kyos
the fact that both girls are avoidede by others makes them similar, although in kimi ni todoke, it's more by accident, and good luck, it's on purpose.

Both are slice-of-life high school love stories - just that JTT is like KnT trippin' on acid: more aggressive, crazy and funny! Both highly recommended.

When I started to get into Bitter Virgin, it reminded me a lot of how Kimi ni Todoke was once I got into it. Bitter Virgin's subject matter is more serious while Kimi ni Todoke's is more lighthearted. Both are tear-jerking stories about a boy and a girl who want to be with each other but just can't seem to convey their feelings to each other.
reportRecommended by BreezeElric
Both main characters are kind of socially awkward and are trying to change themselves in order to make friends and fit in.
reportRecommended by Digit_3
I believe that even though Ojousama no Himitsu is more fast pace and Kimi ni Todoke is more slice of life, they're both about learning how to make friends, and out of making friends, they learn about loving someone. It can be hard to make friends if you worry about the aura that you present to people and that they might not accept you for who you really might be. I think Kimi ni Todoke is nice and drawn out, Ojousama no Himitsu will give you a feeling of a quickfix.
reportRecommended by EclipsedRogue
Right from the start Ono in Aozora Yel reminded me of Sawako in Kimi ni Todoke. Their facial expressions and actions are similiar but that's not the only similarity! They both have a cheerful male friend that is supporting them in their dreams. Both of the mangas are really awesome stories about highschool life!
reportRecommended by Chouko
They're both really similar in a sweet, in a touching way. You get the same feel off of both of them. The art is very cute in both, and the interactions between the characters are realistic and lovable. Two really great mangas, if you like one, you're sure to like the other! :)
reportRecommended by Rubberducki
The friends find their own love along with the heroine and are very supportive towards her. Both stories give a warm feeling and will make you laugh.
reportRecommended by Aina-Chan
Both have protagonists that are socially inept/stunted, developing love relationships with more socially/romantically experienced guys that are popular at school. Although Watashi ni XX Shinasai's protagonist is slightly less innocent compared with Kimi ni Todoke's Sawako, both are extremely pure romantically and socially. The theme of both mangas could easily be summarized as "learning to fall in love"

The 2nd story of the Nostalgia volume is about a gloomy but pretty girl nicknamed Sadako and avoided by her classmates, except for a guy, which is basically the same plot of Kimi Ni Todoke.

Both main female characters and male characters of both series are quite alike. And both series features the girl changing into a more cheerful person with the help of other people (for both series it's 3 i remember). Soramiyo contains astronomy elements though, since it involves an astronomy club.

In both series a boy and a girl end up sitting next to each other and get to know each other better. The guy helps out the girl and vice versa. Both series also deal with the "people are being misunderstood" part, but in a different way. The way main characters communicate is totally different as well in either series so that's the refreshing part if you ever happen to read them both.

Both are very similar: a quiet lonely girl ignored by her classmates that is seen as scary but in fact she is very kind hearted, and loves pets and plants. There aren't many other series that can take a perfectly safe, idealized world and make it feel so realistic and well-done. Kimi Ni Todoke may be the more dramatic of the two, but the feeling you get from it is the same as Yotsuba&.

Story wise the two doesn't have any similarity but why I'm recommending this is because they both have a great plot. They both have a nice touching, sweet intricate story told in somewhat slow pace but elegant atmosphere. Take note this two series are over the top heartfelt and gives you a satisfying experience!

These are both slice of school life romances with comedy thrown in, with themes of discovering friendship and feelings of love. Kimi ni Todoke is more old school shojo while Komi Can't Communicate is definitely newer, but they both have very adorable girl characters who are amazed by so many things the male love interest shares with them. The main male character in both is very perceptive of the female's emotions and supportive.

Unlike Kimi ni Todoke, "Suki desu Suzuki-kun!!" has two main couples, but one of the main couples in S.D.S. (Sayaka x Hikaru), remind me of Sawako and Kazehaya. Both Sawako and Sayaka are really shy, just like how both Kazehaya and Hikaru are really outgoing.
