The Stories are Very Similar
- Strong Girls who fight
- Protecting People from bullies

Personally I think Vanilla Ice is better because the girl in Vanilla Ice embraces her fighting skills unlike the girl in Matsuri Special. The guy in Vanilla Ice who is pinning for the main girl is also really awesome. Their interactions are great. If you like Matsuri Special read Vanilla Ice. You'll love it. And vice versa

Full Contact and Matsuri Special both deal with important lifechanging hobbies- martial arts. While in MS it is wrestling and in FC it is karate, both stories deal with a person growing and getting stronger over time while still including a lot of comedy.

However the protagonist of CS is a girl and discovers that her crush does not like strong girls while in FC a boy starts up karate because he is dumped by his crush who thinks he is not strong enough. Both stories are very similar, but FC rather focuses on training and the stories of sidecharacters of the dojo (a bit mor shounen), while MS manly cocentrates on the relationship of the two maincharacters and is a little more dramatic (a bit more shoujo).

In total, if you like one you should definitley try out the other-
i strongly recommend both!
Both contain physically strong female leads who pretend to be normal girls at school.
Both feature masculine girls who no longer want to do the male dominated sport their father encourages them to do. Instead they want to be more feminine, but that may prove difficult since it's something they are simply not used to.
Both series deal with a girl whose single father runs a gym specializing in a sport she excels at but hates, and a boy who joins said gym because of his enthusiam for the sport. The primary difference is that Matsuri Special has a female protagonist and Katsu! focuses on the aforementioned boy, but the similarity in character attitudes and focus on both the sport and developing character relationships begs comparison.
The stories are'nt similar at all but the style is, cause it's written by the same author. And of course it's good good good. If you liked cat street this one is defenitly worth checking out. This has a bit more comedy than cat street too.

Sports comedies about an energetic girl practising a fight sport against her will. Both girls were pushed into it by their father, while they are longing to have a normal ‘fashionable’ life with friends and romance.
