If it was not for the manga, I don't know how I could have survived when the anime ended. The manga was brilliant and it dived into more serious matters. Ouran Koukou Host Club is the one of the must-read mangas. Most of the times the genre of harem annoys me but not this one. The girl character, Haruhi is a very independent role model who is a challenge when it comes to love, which makes it even more interesting. And that because she is smart, mature and not one of those shy and fragile heroines, she is a character that you will never forget.

Ouran High School Host Club may seem like your typical love story. Numerous boys fall in love with single girl. It IS something like that, and at the same time, something much more.
Hatori Bisco is really creative with the making of each character-- each one has his own unique and special trait, like the idea of "brotherly love", or Kyouya being a person who takes benefit in every action, or Hunny-senpai being the lover of all things cute, but in truth a master martial artist, Mori-senpai, the man of few words, the narcissistic Tamaki cowering in a corner--- most of all, however, the fact that ... Synopsis:
Haruhi, the female protagonist (who is a common girl from a poor family) enters the grand upper class Ouran High School on a scholarship. One day, lost in the school, she wanders into the high school’s male host club and accidentally knocks over an expensive vase. As a deal to repay her debt, she was recruited to join the host club under the pretence of a male. No one in the school knows her true gender identity except for the members of the host club and there, it all marks the start of this uproarious journey. Story: Great – or perhaps, close to perfect. The ... Jan 22, 2013
It's so hard to say what Ouran is, it might just be easier to say what it isn't. Ouran is not serious. Ouran is not supposed to make sense. Ouran is not supposed to be remotely realistic. It will not change your world view. It does not have a deep, philosophical meaning, and is not supposed to make the reader want to go out into the world and do great things.
And that's what makes it great. It has an overused cast description (and makes fun of the stereotypicalness itself). You have the prince, the glasses character, the twincest, the lolita, and the stoic type - ... Feb 13, 2013
Bisco Hatori only proves herself as a great manga writer/drawer.
The way she makes the story goes on (at a point totally apart from the anime, which makes a way better story) wraps you in the drama and you just want to read more. From the simple scenes to the most dramatic ones, Ouran makes you dive into a world that seems totally apart from all of us, but it can still makes you feel comfortable in it. I know my review seems like a critic but I really loved this manga and recommend to every one :D May 3, 2012
I absolutely adored Ouran so much. Definitely worth reading; you get so into the characters and their stories and just how the plot develops. I adored the Host Club, Hikaru and Kaoru were definitely my favourite! I found myself crying at the end; I was so sad that it was over. If you're looking for a funny, sweet, slice of life shoujo, I'd definitely read Ouran! (:

This is THE shoujo manga, the one and only perfect and original shoujo manga EVER. I may be biased but trust me, this is good af.
the story was very good, The timing was off tho, IN this manga you will see the character overcame 2 summers possibly 3. ART IS VERY GOOD HOW THEY DREW THOSE COSTUME OMG the character also very good esp the twin trope. these twins were fighting, arguing, help each other and I hope that God made every twin in this world were Hikaru and kaoru I really enjoyed it, the chapter was very long and it had many chapters Overall, You need to read ... This manga is so near and dear to my heart. It is so enjoyable to read, and even on my third re-read, there were so many points where I was just laughing out loud just from the silliness of the characters. Bisco Hatori does a great job of characterization, making everyone stand out and she works so hard to make sure no small detail is overlooked (for example: mori’s favorite book is don quixote! honey’s favorite subject is math! — these details are briefly mentioned but come back into the story when you least expect it). I loved reading all the small little things she

Jul 2, 2016 Warning this review may contain spoilers. BEST REVERSE HAREM EVER Story: 6/10 Ouran is a parody and a subversion of the trophies of the Shojos at a general level, grabs the stereotypes and gives them a turn to the characters fresh, charismatic, strange and fantastic, the story is the day to day of all those who work in the "Host club" a club of hosts for rich women in the ouran school, every day a different dynamic but at the same time the same one where the host club tries to solve a problem of some person that comes before them, as you can appreciate the History is easy to follow, unlike ... i dont think ive ever loved an anime/manga as much as i love ohshc, it'll always have a special place in my heart
its such a good manga w such a good plot that has characters with immense depth and have amazing character growth. also honestly, as smn who didnt read the chapters that were adapted in the anime, it was kind of a shock 2 me how much romance there was compared to the anime where it was mostly comedy. my favorite part of the manga tho probably has to be the characters. one thing i rlly liked was how established they were, and i mean ... Ouran High School Host Club was one of the most iconic shoujo series of the 2000s with cosplayers at every anime con and a huge following online at the time. For those not familiar, it is a mostly light-hearted reverse harem comedy series centered around Haruhi, a girl from a relatively poor household attending a prestigious school for rich kids as a scholarship student. Due to an unfortunate accident and the fact that the lazy way she dresses caused her to be mistaken for a boy, she ends up getting recruited to be part of the high school’s “Host Club” in order to work off

I am not a fan of this manga. I bought the complete set because it had been recommended so much to me...and ended up selling it right after finishing.
So, what's the big deal? The characters were just not likable to me. Spoiled boys who lack morals hanging around a mediocre and lackluster girl. It just seemed to lack the depth I like in a good story. The characters needed more to them...something that could make them seem more like decent people. Story - I'm being generous if I give it a 4/10. It was slow at times and didn't seem very grounded. There wasn't enough comedy ... Previous - |
