Both main female characters are posing as males in a school. Both are comedys and romance, though one leans more to romance, and the other leans more to comedy. Both main female characters have similar personality traits, straight forward and oblivious to the feelings of affection from the guys surrounding them. both are reverse harem.
A girl who hides her identity and its surrounded by a lot of guys. In hana-kimi she goes to an all boys school just to see her idol, in ouran she must fulfill her debt so... she is forced :D both very funny and interesting stories
Cross dressing action and lots of cute boys!
Both have incredible comical aspects to the stories as well as a slight incorporation of drama. Additionally, they're both based during the main actresses' high school days. And, well, the main protagonists cross-dress, and are admired by main male students. Really, both stories have similar plots except Hana-Kimi is driven with one major goal while Ouran continues many episodes of stories that seem to not lead to a major plot ending as of yet, at least. Both are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for the comedy and just overall amazingness of each story.
Similar story line, interesting characters with lots of humor.
umm.... cause SB said so! alot of bishonen and there is the main character that is a cross-dresser.
they both take places in an all boy school and shojo beat recommended it
Screw-ball romantic comedy involving a girl who cross-dresses due to a certain reason and must maintain the secret in order to *insert whatever here*
hana kimi and ouran hshc are similare because the main character of both of the series are girls posing as a guyand that they are serounded by guys
Both are gender-blender manga, involving the heroine masquerading as a boy and living amongst beautiful bishounen. The only difference is that in Ouran, the host club know that she is a girl (but the customers don't ^_^) and in Hana-Kimi, only a couple people know. However, both are extremely well-written and a great read!
they are very similar because they are both about a girl pretending to be a boy being together/having to do with other guys.

A realistic, snarky girl is thrust into the world of an over-the-top club of boys in her school. These are lighthearted shoujo series that are similar in both premise and sense of humor and fun.
Even though one is about hosting and the other is about hairstyling, the characters are so similar in their personalities and even character designs.. (Ochiai is way too similar to Kyouya). Aside from that they're both lighthearted comedy romance stories that have fun twists. If you really liked Ouran you defenitely have to check out Beauty Pop... you won't be disappointed!
They are both funny and a little bit strange
Very similar type of main girl and also similar type of guys. The situation's the same too. It's a reverse harem with one girl being the centre of the boys.
Stoic females leads asked to join the male-only clubs at their high schools that specially cater to the female students. Both are really funny, and though the characters share similarities they are definitely not clones of each other which makes both of them worth the read.
A realistic, I-Don't-Care type of girl is pretty much forced to be around a bunch of cute guys who love beauty.

Both series has a boy club that admits a girl that acts like a boy. All the boys are insanely rich while the girl is middle class. The leader of the club has a big crush on the girl, but they don't want to admit it.
They both have "tomboyish" girls that have been lassoed into working for/being involved in a "club" full of nothing but (rich) guys because of a debt.
That is where the similarities(?) end though. Both are very different manga, but both are good. I say go read 'em! :D
Well, I haven't thoroughly tested this out, but somewhere in Volume 8 or Gokuraku Seishun Hockey Club I thought, I wonder if this is an intentional parody of Ouran High School Host Club? At least some of the time, anyway. Ouran is certainly famous enough to be parodied. There's a girl forced into a boy's club, which is totally unlike the Ouran Host Club, but the male members are rich, there is a set of twins, there's the glasses-wearing intellectual type, and there's a pretty boy (OK, he's not as short as Hunny). The heroine is somewhat odd and somewhat detached, too. The purpose of the club seems to be somewhat ill-defined in both cases. At one point the leader of the club announces a plan for the club to take on the noble cause of getting a prince to stop hating Japan, very much like Tamaki takes on noble causes. In any case, it's not a close parody. I mean, Ouran is itself a parody of other things. But it's fun to think about. You can look for your own similarities and differences.
Just like rich tamaki uses poor haruhi as a toy and forces her to join their club due to a debt izumi does the same to Hana, except that their club is a "hokey" club. It has the same tipe of humor and as you read it it also has the same feel to it. If you enjoyed OHHSC you definitely enjoy this one.

Reverse-harem shoujo parodies in absolutely no hurry to pair anyone off.
The humour and love is similar to each other.
In both mangas:
- the main characters don't realize their feelings for one another
- mainly comedy with some serious undertones
- one girl with several handsome boys around her
They both have a group of hot guys, a unique main female lead, oh and lots of comedy XD
girl surrounded by many male characters and the storyline is very interesting too.it also has same genre type .

Special A is similar to Ouran because of the similar situations. Hikari (Special A) is a poor student attending a rich private academy who worked her way up to become second in her school. Haruhi (Ouran) is also a poor student on scholarship attending a rich private academy. Both girls seem to be oblivious to the potential love interests around them.
both of those manga are school life genre
shojo and romance! Rich people and 1 poor girl

One girl, bunch of guys, highschool setting
Want to know what shōjo stereotypes Ouran pokes fun at? Then Fruits Basket is a must. Haruhi is the antithesis of Tohru sometimes, with her very stoic unemotional way of acting. Tamaki takes Tohru's "always smile" philosophy to a whole new extreme. The high school setting, the privileged families, the gigantic casts and backstories - even Momiji and Honey-senpai are unbelievably similar. The main couple are slow to realize their feelings, too. Ouran is a sillier answer to Fruits Basket.
cuz it has love and comedy in both of them

It's boths a gender bender anime, where the both girls have to hide their gender in school
for some purpose that is not theirs and kind off against their own will at the start.
Ah, out beloved cross-dressing, track, binding of the chest, romance, and of course our assumed gay-ness... if that makes any sense..

If you like the whole one girl surrounded by many many possible guys, ouran is probably the next best choice in mind.
Both harems, with male characters being as different as can be.
Both with absolutely un-annoying and cute female characters.
Both nice little romances.
Both worth a read.

Both mangas are written by the same author. They both have drama, comedy, and romance. Both are worth reading!

Both have reversed harem and are pretty similiar.
If you liked either or these mangs you will love the other one, they are both very similar in reverse harem, and are hilarious!!!!! you will love them

Haruhi Fujioka and Tsukushi Makino are both poor girls at elite schools. They both aren't the type of people who "center" around the most popular guy [Tamaki and Tsukasa]. And they are both high school stories.
Both story have a poor girl. But high school host club is more funnier then hana yori dango. But hyd is lots more romantic story. I love hyd and hshc.

Both stories start with girls very focused on their studies, and then, meet some strange and bizarre group.
both are about a cross dressing girl surrounded by boys

While I was reading Pixie Pop, Ouran Host Club always popped into my mind. Both stories are about love and its troubles. If you don't get, read Ouran than Pixie Pop and maybe you'll see what I mean ;)
Both have "host club" type settings where a normal person is suddenly thrust into the situation and has to work there. They're both very funny too.
animal jugle is pretty similar to ouran high school host club...why? because the main protagonist is surrounded by cute boys!! if you love the storyline of ouran, you'll defiitely love the story plot of animal jungle..although the plot is common...you'll really really love it!

In both stories a girl transfer schools and (unwillingly) join a club formed by handsome and weird guys. The two of them have comedy and romance. If you liked one you should try the other but (in my opinion) OHSHC is still much better.
The stories are very different, but both are funny gender benders where an interesting girl defies traditional female stereotypes
This manhwa is where a girl surrounded by many male characters and the storyline is very interesting too.

It’s similar to Ouran with the reverse harem theme and all those pretty boys falling all over the heroine. Both stories are funny however whilst Ouran is light, fluffy comedy, Heart No Kuni No Alice’s humour is sadistic, violent and darker in comparison. The characters in Heart No Kuni No Alice are quite “trigger happy” and merrily pull out guns and weapons at any chance they get which I find absolutely hilarious.
Both are romantic comedies (even though Ouran has a much slower romatic development) that involve a girl joining a club with no other girls but only guys. They're both worth reading and if you liked one you should try the other.

The similarity lies in a young working class background girl going into a ridiculously rich school where the students there live outrageous life styles.
There are similarities in supporting characters but the two main male leads are very different. In Imadoki we find a serious handsome young male with a hidden sweet side whilst in Ouran we have the over enthusiastic male lead who everyone loves.
The female leads are very different too - although both have a kind side to them whilst they live in their way - a lonely life.
If you enjoyed the fun and games in the ridiculously rich place of ouran that overlapped with our common place heroine then you will love imadoki and vice versa!
Blended in nicely are the romantic quirks of the two leads with beautiful male leads that drives both schools crazy!

Both Stories deal with a Poor Girl put into a Situation she cant escape from with a group of Rich young Men.

I think the character is similar
tamaki look like = nagi
kyouya look like = kaze

A girl joins a club full of handsome guys that act likes hosts. They're both worth reading romantic comedies - even though ouran is much longer.

If you loved the popular Ouran High School Host Club series, than you'll definitely enjoy this manga.
Both have an extremely bright heroine as the main character and opposes many of the cliches that come packaged with the shoujo series.
Read it~ You won't regret it!

Similar sort of humour, and both have strong female leads. Both are very enjoyable too.

What drew my attention to Kanojo ga Cafe ni Kayou Wake at first was how similar the situation was to Ouran High School Host Club, in which I've already started reading awhile ago. Both feature the main female protagonist being mistaken as boy who gets roped in to serving people after an unfortunate accident. Although, both manga plays on the ironic situation the main character is in, Great Waiters is more mellow than Host Club which seems mostly comedic.
Haruhi (Host Club) is forced to work as an host club member after braking a vase worth 8 million yen. Eisei (Great Waiters) is employed at a cafe as a waiter after falling in love with another waiter that she knocked into spilling drinks. The main characters personalities are slightly different as that Haruhi acts like a boy but looks more feminine and kinda dense about love. However, Eisei strongly resembles a guy though she hardly acts like one most of the time.
Soon both girls are found out, but they still play the roles of a male throughout the series. In both manga the female character falls in love with the main male character who likes them regardless of how they look like on the outside. Unlike Host Club, that is a couple volumes longer, Great Waiters is short and sweet but will probably leave you wishing it was longer.
A main difference between Host Club and Great Waiters is the main focus of the Great Waiters would change each chapter but the main characters will still be around. It's another reason I like Great Waiters more than Host Club since it's like a new story each chapter to take in.

I just associate these two together for some reason. Thye have the same kind of art, and the same kind of cute little story. You'll like them both :)
Both series are happy and bright, while developing and exploring the characters. Friendship developing into romance is also in both.
These two are similar in that a girl goes around dressing like a guy and they are both also comedies. Also a sense of unrequited love.
Reverse harem. A girl transfers to a new school and have many interesting encounters. Similarity: ***
High school club life; both private schools with a girl who doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the club.
A girl who is smart but would rather live a "quieter" existence finds herself in the service of guys that requires the spotlight to shine on her more than she'd like. Both have humor, drama, romance, oh and crossdressing!

If you enjoyed 'CLAMP School Detectives', you'll enjoy 'Ouran High School Host Club'.
In both stories you deal with comedy and romance, and the characters a very alike. In both you find a cute (and somewhat clueless) kid, the handsome leader, and a smart, cool 'secretary'.
Though 'Ouran High School Host Club' doesn't deal with detective work, it deals with the main idea of 'CLAMP School Detectives': Helping females (in their own different ways...)

Reverse harems, anyone? Me and My Brothers is a bit less romance centric, in that the girl is their step sister, but it is var var cute and pokes fun at all the male sterotypes like Ouran tends to. It has chara like Tamaki, Mori, Kyouya, and one similar to Hikaru. If you enjoyed Ouran, please give Me and My Brothers a try!
They both feature a powerful club that really goes overboard at the whims and passions of their president and the leading male is a charming idiot (in love anyway). I think Host Club is superior but Love Master is on the cute side and worth a shot if you want some syurpy shojo.
Both stories are about a girl joining a weird club that contains a small group of crazy cute guys.
Both have these themes: comedy, cross dressing and a bit of shoujo.
At first glance, though both mangas are shoujos, they seem quite different. Indeed, their stories ARE quite different, but the feelings they evoke in their readers are just the same. Never have any mangas made me laugh like Ouran and Lovely Complex. Never have any mangas made me smile like Ouran and Lovely Complex. Never have two mangas made me tear like Ouran and Lovely Complex... theyre two fanatastic series witht the same kind of wacky humour, the same kind of sugary sweet romance, and the same kind of heroine.
Actually, this is the redeeming factor for both mangas. While Ouran's Haruhi has more of a wtf-i-dont-care attitude, Risa has more of a wtf-is-wrong-with-you-you-have-problems attitude. But they BOTH have a sense of rationality, and can make incredibly funny comments from anything (especially haruhi... she's so down to earth, I love her :D).
You'll like both series, to be sure.

Both in school setting. Both heronines are moonlighting as guys. They both very handsome in male outfits. Similiar family background/ parental roles. Both shoujo where there are guys who like them regardless of how they look like on the outside.
The two main characters of Zenbu Kimi no Mono are similar in personality (and also in position with him being the wealthy son of the head of the school and she being a commoner) to Tamaki and Haruhi.
Both are shoujo romantic comedies about people who hide their real gender for some reason. While Makoto must prove his actor talent by pretending he's a girl, Haruhi must pay for a broken vase by working in a host club and pretending she's a guy.
Both of the stories take place in a school, and contain a big group of friends where each person has his/her own personality. So there is similarities, but the story-lines are different.
The art is somewhat like, but Ouran Host Club has rougher drawings than Koukou Debut
Both female leads dressed as males by force. They encounter many handsome male characters who will fall in love with her. One in a school's host club the other in the showbiz world.
