After School Wedding (One Shot)

The story was lackluster with poor characters who really all together lead to my disappointment. MS normally delivers but this was too much and done badly. Plus I think I'm a bit tired of her same old, same old. There is no depth to the males after reading a few of her men since they all seem like carbon copies of each other and that goes double with an exponent for the women.

First off let me say that I am a Mayu Shinjo fan. I've read quite a few even though I haven't reviewed all her work. There are a few elements I would like to point out. There are some norms that will be found in all MS work. The overbearing Alpha male is a must and seems to be recreated to different extremes in ALL her work. The female is not weak per say but can be annoying in her childish naivete <---which can frustrate the fans (or really frustrates the hell out of me). Plus as I've noted in a few of her work there is normally this thing called "consensual rape"; thankfully it was not present in this story (a very small blessing). Her artwork is always exceptional so that's something to expect. Plus she seems to always right about one cliched scenario to another. Normally I have no problems with them, however in this work it was just poorly executed.

So we have an Uber Hot Model posing as a Teacher who's married to a school girl who was his childhood friend who is also his student. Already that plot is ridiculous. I know about 3 animes and 5-10 mangas that do the same. Not to mention live-action films and tv shows all over the world. So the cliched story is down. Then we have this Alpha Male who is overbearing but relatively sweet but who has a rather twisted sadistic side. I won't elaborate on this but you'll see what I mean in the end of the piece.

What's the problem with that? Yeah Akuma from Akuma na Eros was similar, but Akuma was the devil. Besides that it was within character. However in this story it just seemed out of character since as a Model he seemed fine and as a teacher he was fine. He wasn't even a jerk throughout the story. Actually he wasn't a jerk at all, but they implied that he was when I thought he was actually too kind to her.

She was definitely the problem though. She whinges and whines and we know and she definitely knows she's insecure. That's fairly understandable when the man you love is an uber hot guy who could score any hottie in the world and you're just your average teenager. However, she was just too much for me when he never did a thing to suggest that he was cheating. She was weak, she was sniveling, she was naive, childish and all together an annoying disappointment.

Both characters didn't seem developed nor did they seem to even grow by the end of the story. Worthless. I didn't even enjoy it in the end because of all these problems.
