In both of these shounen titles, we follow the journey of the male protagonist and their foray into the sport of boxing.
The two stories are about a young boy discovering boxing, although the personnality of the protagonists are completely opposite. Ippo is a pretty naive boy with no self-confiedence while Take is very smart guy, full of pride and sure about everything he does. Ippo started boxing to know how it feels like to be strong and Take started it to get closer to a girl. But even if they're different, the two stories have a similar feeling, you should really read the other one if you already liked one of these two manga.
Both weak guys who discover boxing, and slowly develop their skills to get stronger and faster.
