If you had a chance to return from the dead on condition of carrying top-down orders will you do it?
Story - 7/10:
It is hard to write something in order to not give details of the plot, praticularly when the manga is so short.
The main character Ash J. Wright former detective wrongly sentenced to death receives such a proposal from the Council of the Angels. But is he going to carry out a commands or he will be work by his own rules?
The person responsible for Ash acts and his companion is Angel.
After comeback to Earth Ash discovers that he is invisible to humans and his body consist ash, which is a link with the earthly world. Also he receives an abillity to command this ash what is using in the different way e.g. on creating cigarettes for oneself.
After all a desire for revenge is not for overcoming and in spite of his new obligations he decides to take revenge on people who hurt him and him closest.
Art - 9/10:
The art looks great. Characters and backgrounds are drawn in great detail.
Drawings are perfectly matched to the story. Occasionally you can see a small mistakes, but they do not interfere with reading.
Characters - 8/10:
We have here the two main characters and several secondary characters.
The main characters are Ash and Angel. When I first saw Angel I thought to myself "What Rukia form Bleach is doing here?". Main difference between him and Rukia it is a gender. Angel is a guy. He is probably an angel, but in manga it is not written directly. He doesn't like Ash ways of activity because he must be accountable for Ash behaviour ahead of Council.
Ash is arrogant and he wants to do everything on his own way. Even he didn't take his own death to heart. He was the detective who investigated the case of a senator who was involved in an illegal business. They thought that he is to dangerous so they decided to get rid of him.
He was accused of crimes he did not commit and sentenced to death.
After return from the dead he get to the city where he lived.
One of secondary characters is Whirl. Psychopathic mercenary who wants to kill Ash. Why I write about him? Because he is the only man who can see the main character. This is interesting.
At first his issue " Let's play" perfectly fit into his character but this text is being repeated many times by him what is become boring (he probably don't know a lot of words).
Overall - 8/10:
To sum up "The Innocent" has a potential which until the end wasn't exploited. Too many ideas, characters and events were published in one volume. Indeed history got until the end but story contain a few side stories which, in my opinion, can be expanded.
If the manga have two or three volumes rather than one I think it would be better.
I recommend this manga to every people who like story with action and fantasy.
Sorry for my bad English :)
