Secret identities, mysterious extra person in a closed group, the intertwined fates of the characters, all these add up to a well written mystery.

Continuation of a mystery franchise, that takes the story of man vs supernatural - the investigation behind a certain supernatural phenomenon, and spings it into unexpected meta narration, greatly plot-twisting the previous parts.

Iris Zero/Toru are quite similar to Umineko Ep7/Will and, to a lesser degree, Ep5/Battler. In both manga/sound novels, the three characters place great emphasis on the motive, the whydunnit of the mystery/crime. They "don't forget about the heart" of the culprit and try to figure it out even after knowing the whodunnit and howdunnit rather than just giving up from the start and waiting for a confession from the culprit.
